I'll take that Ross comment as a huge huge compliment I always loved his skies
Bob & I spent many many happy hours together when I was younger......... I still think of Mr Happy Trees every time I start using different/odd colors for things believe me when I tell you there are some "colourful" things I've done that would have made Bob wonder what the heck goes on in my world

You betcha... Bob was cool.... because of him my preffered method is to paint from dark to light..... Tough to do but you get lovely contrast that way

hehe yup thanks to Bob I still paint "backwards" half the time
*shrug* I do everything else backwards, why would that be any different?

YOu should try mixing up your own black gesso or dark grey..... and making your own liquid white.... Expensive, messy and nowhere near true Bob Ross paint.. now sure exactly how he made his.. runs out expensive too from what I recall.... (certainly export stocks)

I have no idea how the Ross paints are. I've never done anything but make my own... I refuse to pay that much for any of that kind of stuff (hehe there's too many cool electronics to spend that kind of money on)
for the black & grey gesso I just add black ink to white gesso & I'm all set
& lulz same goes for liquid white stuff, just mix up linseed & titanium (both are an easy bulk item so extra cheapo)

I would probably complain about the quality of my concoctions if I were ever to try the "good stuff" but *shrug* can't miss what you never had *big smiles*

- think you need thinners in the liquid white mix too..... I added a bit of drying agent too.......

ooooh the dryer is a good idea!!! because as I'm sure you know all that linseed makes it take foooooorever to "dry" * I'm so gonna try this!! *
by thinner do you mean paint thinner? or some kind of medium?

yes - Bob actually mentioned it once upon a time.... makes it a touch less viscous also helps speed up drying.... The trick is to get the balance right
