Well, the foam is actually rather easy but I have to do it right on the first try, otherwise it fails. Lots of pressure. D8

I've got really mised opinions about this one. As to be completely honest with you, the foreground is absolutely fantastic. That rock.. and the nearest wave hitting it and splashing against it is absolutely fantastic. Reaaaaally good job with that. I think the problem's to do with the ocean nearer the horizon... but being honest, its quite hard to place. Still though I really love the foreground. This is a really good attempt at an ocean scene.

Ok, maybe when I do another picture like this you might like it. Unless I do something radical on the next try with rocks, I would probably charge something like $20 plus shipping. Is that too much for you?

hmm...you should use a complimentary color for your background wash *nods*
like...blue sky? a light orange wash...light blue sky? a light yellow orange *shrugs* trying to remember from highschool days XP

Background wash? You mean the base color? I was thinking maybe a white to get a more vibrant color. Anyways, does not useing complimentary colors darken and gray?

yes a base color which is on the entire canvas before the actual painting begins...
white is usually not used because then that is your lightest value on a painting, so nothing you paint will be as bright as your canvas..
To draken it just a tad, use a cloth/paper towel, with terpinoin/tempintine and a little paint I think for oils, I use acrylics and I use a dab of paint and alot of water, and only put on a light layer...it's just to get the white of the canvas to go away, then your white paint will be your brightest value.
Well, if you let it dry completely before painting on it, then no, you won't get grey/mud
(if you use a paper towel be prepared to have lint things all over your canvas, found this out on my most recent painting)
Hope I made some sense o_0
