Finished this about a week or two ago, took me ages to do! I think it was 4 hours work just in the right arm of the tiger doing reallllyyyy fine fur strokes.. even worse mum accidently spilt paint on that paw so I had to fix it.Done it automotive basecoats on MDF wood. Comments and favs appreciated, I put alot of effort into this.
Reference was used, thanks to for the photograph. (Finally found the owner of the reference, check out his work

Thanks.. I havn't been doing it as much lately so i'm prob not up to scratch at the moment.
I prefer the Badger.. though I have two:
- Badger 360 for "large" area work to save time - like spraying in a whole black section of something.
- For finer detail and most my work I have a mixture of two airbrushes... it's a Badger Sotar 20/20 (the mechanical/guts of the airbrush) and the body of the Badger 151. The Sotar is Badger's finest airbrush, putting all the parts in a 150 body allows it for siphon feed (from a bottle) rather than gravity fed (from a tiny cap on top of the airbrush) so it makes things alot more fluent workwise. I'd highly recommend doing that. - Though parts aren't cheap and the airbrush is delicate so if you do that be prepared to take extra care of it.

Thank you so much, I appreciate you taking the time to share with me what you are using. I will probably just get the Sotar as I will only be using it for small projects, to start with anyway. But the advice on combining both will come in handy for the future I'm sure. I certainly wouldn't have thought of that on my own!

No worries, good luck with it. But mark my words.. it's very delicate. If you knock the needle, especially drop it, you can split the tip (it's a tiny piece that goes under the nose of the airbrush), and it's about $100 to replace. I can't count on two hands how many of those i've gone through. Hope that doesn't scare you off it either

This is absolutely beautiful--the lighting, the shading, and the incredible detail. Would that I had your patience. The hours you put into it definitely show--all that fur is wonderfully realistic. It's difficult to tell if this is a photograph or not unless you get pretty darn close. You demonstrate a great level of skill to able to capture the sense of realism from the photograph.
