lol, yh. Reading the manga instead helps though, none of that filler bullshit they put in the anime to pass the time and often less censorship. if you're still interested I'd recommend you check that out.

e_e;; I have major issues with realism... -cough- I can't ever get it right really. It always turns out wrong and really, really, really... well... ugly o O;. I'm pretty decent at Anime but it lacks since I can't do relism for crap -_-;; so now I work on realism more and it vexes me so.
I think I get what you mean with the styalistic methods of observation... e e;; However, I believe that I am doing exactly what I shouldn't be. -_-;; I wouldn't be surprised if I am. XD

lol! Everyione starts off with styalism and works realism into it eventually. Some people even get really good at styalism but never learn realism (the guy who does megatokyo is a good example of this, lovely style, but he can't draw from life at all! XD) I started off doing manga style through and through too
