After the results of that poll I think I'm more comfortable posting some my sketchy/unfinished work (in the gallery and in scraps), so here you go.Quick piece done in a few hours for the fanart/fanfiction contest on the Animorphs LJ community [link] , if only because I wanted an excuse to draw more Animorphs fanart- that series has its claws sunk in pretty deep.
All I knew when I started this was that I wanted to draw the characters post-battle, with Rachel wiping blood from her mouth and storming off. I don't know if Cassie punched her, if they had a disagreement and that's just some Taxxon's blood on her face from earlier, but I'm pretty content with how it turned out. I'm happy to let other people figure out the story on their own.

Glory Hallelujah, this is just wonderful. I seriously need to go reread the series, just based on this image. Others have gone more in depth, but it is utterly amazing that you've managed to capture their characters so perfectly. It's gorgeous.

I have spent the last couple YEARS on-and-off working on a costume recreation of your Historically Accurate Snow White...and all this time I never knew you were an Animorphs fan!!!!!!! Ugh, I have so much I want to communicate about this. Each character in this is so distinct and perfect, but I think my favorite, characterization-wise, is Marco. You have visually expressed the exact attitude that is so vividly portrayed for him in the written series.

I don't think I'll ever get over Animorphs. I still feel and learn a lot when I reread them! Did you have a favorite character, or one you related to the most of the main six? Did you love, hate or tolerate the ending of the series?
PS here's a WIP of your snow white dress. I'm not following your drawing EXACTLY but obviously based on it! It's the first time I'm making a dress for ME instead of for someone else, and I went all out with real velvet and velveteen, ordering some fabrics from renaissancefabrics, drafting my own pattern, hand-embroidery, the WURKZ. Someday I'll finish...!

I'm so glad that there are fans to Animorphs on Dart.
I remember that the book series ran out of stem when Dart was still young and not that well known.
I couldn't believe that I found fan art to a TV show and book series that had been out of popularity for so long.
Specially fan art that was so good!
The baby Andalite you designed was adorable. The fawn markings were a cute and believable touch.

I love art like this. Even well-written books have a problem with the disconnect the readers feel if they can't actually see the characters; Half of all communication is non-verbal, and we are sight-based creatures. Since the plot and visuals from the Animorph series was so bizarre and otherworldly (in a good way) it is damn hard to develop visual media for the series, as the tv-show can attest. It is always great to see art like this, and AWESOME work like this is a real treat. Thanks for drawing and sharing this! π: 0 β©: 1
My favorite part of this piece is the nuances in the character's expressions. (As I said before, they were sorely lacking in the books.) Cassie is looking upset, pissed, but also tired and remorseful. Jake looks like he is in "leader mode" resolving the situation with a cool head without letting emotion enter into it, but his concern for her is still evident in his body language. Marco is his normal mix of exasperated-eye-rolling and snarky criticism. Rachel is the grim ice-queen we all know and love, although I detect a sense of caution and hesitation. (It makes sense, as she only really mellowed out for Cassie or Tobias's sake in the series.) Tobias is, of course, inscrutable, which is a driving point in his tragic back-story. Ax is probably my favorite; I can imagine him thinking "
The point of the above paragraph was to illustrate how much emotion you were able to convey with just a few lines, with a "sketchy" piece of artwork. If this is what you consider "Unfinished", I would love to see your masterpieces.

If YOU tried to make an animorphs media that was better than the Nick show, how would you do it? Anime? Western animation aimed at adults or toned down again at kids? Somewhere in between as a prime time show, somewhere between LOST and Naruto in audience it's aimed at?
The way I see it, Animorphs=Homeward Bound + Red Dawn + the 2 "V" miniseries (man eating space lizards who like to sleep with thier food).
I personally think animorphs would make a great anime/manga. I'd love to see the japanese take on a western idea-give us both worlds. If there was a western comic series, I think your art style would be cool to see incorporated. Dark and gritty but positive.

This is awesome! I know this is random, but to me, it looks like Ax is siding with Rachel XD Like, the way Jake is siding with Cassie... It doesn't mean they agree with the actions of that person, per say... But---okay it's like this: Ax looks like he is scornful of Cassie, and wants to be WITH WITH Rachel, the way Jake is WITH WITH Cassie.
I personally think they'd (Ax and Rach) make a very cute couple, but, alas, it never worked out that way did it? Still, for the fandom XXD

They should really make a an animorphs movie. Something with a good budget so they can use lots of effects to transition the transformation and make the animals they turn into so they can fight and such. It would be great to actually use real animals but you can't have them be violent so it would be too restrictive and a tv show wouldn't be able to use good enough effects to make the animals look decent. I just hope someone does it sooner rather than later.
