Description
After like, 6+ months in the MDZS fandom, I missed MMX already. But still, I don't want to up and leave. I want to stay in both. I still want to work on my own stories like TViYH on FFN and End of Eden, which I had planned prior to my unplanned hiatus. So I suppose the best way for me to return is to transition... through a crossover!

No, he is not an OC... he's basically LWJ from MDZS, just... MMX-ified. Backstory is sketchy and subject to change, but I'll type it in here anyways since I have a pretty good idea of it already. I have also come up with the name of the MDZS/MMX crossover AU: Once Upon a Time in Far East HQ.

But please take note that the story will be far more lowkey in terms of universe impact scale compared to ZXA. Meaning that the threats will not be as deadly; they will likely never face Sigma. Why? ZXA have virus immunity, but these Chinese reploids do not. Just like the average reploid, there's no taking them back once they're infected. So there will be less explosions and viruses and stuff. It's more low sci-fi compared to ZXA's high sci-fi.

BACKGROUND
After Doppler supposedly invented a cure for the Maverick virus (before X3 but after X2), the reploid industry boomed, leading to innovations left and right, including in China. L-02 is the second reploid created by Cloud Recesses laboratory after his "older brother" L-01. Both brothers were modeled after xianxia cultivators like others in their generation (designs to come!) and were given birth names and courtesy names to fit the aesthetic.

L-02, courtesy name Wangji, was built to be the "efficient maverick hunter" to serve as a "solution" to the "problem" X presented. Being the progenitor of all reploids with unlimited potential and feelings like humans do, X's maverick hunting prowess is impeded by his feelings. L-02 was to solve this problem by having his feelings repressed through education. Combined with his repression and combat capabilities, L-02 was lauded as one of the most efficient killing machines and was quickly given an A-rank upon his admission in Far East Maverick Hunters HQ.

Everything was going smooth, until a certain combat model reploid from Lotus Pier laboratory started to pester him...

TECHNICALITIES/DESIGN NOTES
I had to adapt the forehead ribbon into something... similar. In the end the forehead ribbon and its meaning had to be shed because this is an MMX AU and there are no cultivational sects, and everything is... so much different. But I managed to adapt his sword Bichen into a saber (it's going to be called Bichen instead of B-Saber or something though) and of course, the guqin.

The guqin functions as a long-range weapon where strumming can cause shockwaves. It also enables him to function as a one-man army of sorts to play a song that disrupts the mavericks' electronic brain, rendering them immobile and thus turning them into easy pickings.

I incorporated a lot of "2" in his design -- even his back has an "er" motif ("er" is two in Chinese, it's written like 二). MDZS readers will understand why.

This design is based off younger LWJ, because I plan for him to get a makeover when he officially gets together with WWX, whom I will be designing next.

TRIVIA
I have some worldbuilding bits figured out, others are still up in the air. I will be listing the bits I have figured out and are relevant to L-02:
LXC/L-01 "Xichen" is not a combat model, but a therapist reploid, so he doesn't work with LWJ.
The lead scientists in Cloud Recesses include Qingheng-jun, Madam Lan, and LQR. The first two were the ones who were on board with LXC and LWJ given names, and LQR was reluctant at first until he realized that giving L-01 a name would help the patients relate more with him, and the name to be given to L-02, "Wangji," fits his purpose as an (almost) unfeeling killing machine.
After X6, LWJ climbs up the ranks and got good enough to be transferred from Far East HQ to Central Hunter HQ (where ZXA, Alia, and Signas are). LXC were transferred there shortly before LWJ because X6 was chaos for the rest of the world and everyone needs help. In the end, despite being separated briefly, LXC and LWJ are once again working under the same roof. LWJ would later contribute during X7 (along with WWX) while ZXA were off killing the Red Alert bosses.
