Description

Introduction

Haftar is dead. The nation is left  in a state of bitter turmoil and the world cowers in fear as the once promising country has become the most chaotic hellscape in human history; bent on plunging the entire Mediterranean sea into its knees.

The desert is covered with the blood; tribals fighting neck-to-neck and bodies littered across the streets as the law has become a mere myth. Corsairs begins to rise from the figment of history and slavery grows into an eloquent market for the many. Cities begins to fight one another and people leaving from their homes in massive numbers.

But in 2026, a new yet familiar face has emerged. From the city Bani Waleed, a lone Tuareg and his merry band of militias stormed across the west and overwhelmed the what’s left of the government with tremendous speed. His rise to power has shocked many as his deeds was in the name of Gaddafi and his legacy; daring to drag the world into the tribulation of a worldwide revolution.

Libya is facing a new era, it will be consequential event for those to remember, as long as they live.

Factions

Green Army: From a feeble band of militia squabbling over the town of Bani Waleed, now an emerging goliath encompassing the entirety of Tripolitania. The Green Army has proved themselves to be a huge threat for the rivaling powers as the echoes of Gaddafi's legacy has drawn many into their side.

They wield the largest army in Libya, over 250,000 - 500,000 men, women, and even children joined to fight for the unity of their homes. They wield anything from that’s available; from the most sophisticated of rifles to the lowest arms they can bare, spears.

But none of this could ever happen without the sole leadership of the army - the Ghost of Muammar. An enigmatic Tuareg and a cunning commander, he stormed across the region and overwhelmed all of the bickering warlords in only 7-9 months; proving himself to be one of the most talented military minds in Libya, despite his backward origins.

Islamic States: After a risky endeavor to cross through the open seas of the Mediterranean, the Islamic States has risen again in a triumphant comeback, overwhelming the bickering warlords that once plagued the coast.

They raid the seas and terrorize the coast; kidnapping almost everyone in the name of slavery, organ-harvesting, ransoming, and so on. They thrived in piracy and generated a steady income for their men

Republican Libya: A contrabands of professional officers and soldiers fighting to restore the republic. Led by the Usman Ibn Khattab, he successfully united some of the warlords through sheer diplomacy and brutality.

They’re known for their skills and discipline, killing more people than the rest despite their small numbers. They’re also infamous for their elite armored division - the Cavalry of Usman. But they have in skill, they lack the necessary manpower and resources to unite Libya under a single banner, leaving him with few but instrumental choice that will decide the fate of his men.

The Four Cliques: The few remaining warlords left to bicker around the desert. But despite their lack of military acumen, they still proved to be volatile in the face of combat; willing to do anything to preserve their power.

The following cliques are: Mansur, Mustafa, Hussain, and Aswan.

Council of Generals: A council of general who are loyal to Khalifa Haftar and his legacy of restoring Libya from its decrepit state. They’re only power in Libya to be formally recognized by stable countries: from Egypt, Russia, China, and even Israel.

Hun and Sabha: Two cities states that exploited the recent development of a rising market - slavery. They’re the richest powers in the desert and hold massive wealths within their treasury.

With slavery making a comeback, the massive flow of income they’ve generated has allowed them to build up their territory and hire foreign mercenaries to capture slaves from the corners of Chad, Nigeria, and Algeria. They also have cordial relations with ISIS, who proved to be a reliable ally and trading partner.

Tebbou and Zuwayya: Two tribes who are able to control the vast eastern corners of Fezzan. Nothing much come from their other than small skirmishes and raids for plunder and able-bodied men. They’re led by their Sheikhs and keep to their own affairs, refusing to join sides in the greater wars that’s flowing above their heads.

The Coalition of Free Tribes: A coalition of tribes trying to protect their homes from the massive onslaught. They’re a stubborn power isolated from the current affairs that plague the nation.

Tuareg Militas: Separatist militias bent to carve the southern edge of Libya to form their own home. They’re the lone raiders that haunts the deserts and terrorize those who dares to oppose them. They’re also the only ally the Green Army has, who share his common value of independence and dignity.

They’re known for the ferocity and determination of its calvary; skilled in the matters of navigation and survival. The Ghost of Muammar is byproduct of that doctrine; infusing the old tradition of warfare with the new empiric matters of military science.

I think it might be: in the same world, and the background of the story is the same.

As a guy that got lowkey obsessed with Ghadaffi and the Lybian Civil Wars for a while this is an amazing map. Got a couple of questions though.

How is Tunis dealing with all this situation? Do they get along well with the Mansur Clique or is it a constant skirmish over there?

Are the Chadians still launching slave raids into Tebbou territory like they tend to do today?

On a scale from 1 to "JESUS CHRIST NOT THIS AGAIN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" how much concern does the world have about the Green Army (and the new Barbary Pirates for that matter)?

Also for some reason the description of Hun and Sabha gave me some very Conan the Barbarian-esque vibes for some reason, and I mean that in a good way. Makes me think that they'll end up getting a very painful but not undeserved end at the hands of The Ghost of Muammar and a bunch of angry Tuaregs.

As a guy that got lowkey obsessed with Ghadaffi and the Lybian Civil Wars for a while this is an amazing map. Thanks!
Got a couple of questions though.Go ahead!
How is Tunis dealing with all this situation? Do they get along well with the Mansur Clique or is it a constant skirmish over there? They have mixed relations: At first, they possess mobile scuds; albeit lacking chemical weaponry, is still enough to potentially threatened Tunisia - making them paranoid, especially when the leader has a dysfunctional personality. On the other hand, Mansur doesn't really have any reason to be hostile, they sometimes work together to deal with both the Tuaregs and the Green Army.
Are the Chadians still launching slave raids into Tebbou territory like they tend to do today?I'll explore the effects of the war throughout the surrounding region soon. But for now, I have to vaguely say yes. But at least Tebbou gives them a good fight, and it seems to push them off from the borders.
On a scale from 1 to "JESUS CHRIST NOT THIS AGAIN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" how much concern does the world have about the Green Army (and the new Barbary Pirates for that matter)? For now (at least in 2026), they're a security concern for the United Nations, but they're not comparable to the Barbary Crisis - despite overwhelming Tripolitania in the course of 9 months. They don't raid and pillage across the Mediterranean and always stick to the desert, and they put massive effort to crack down human trafficking.

Also for some reason the description of Hun and Sabha gave me some very Conan the Barbarian-esque vibes for some reason, and I mean that in a good way. Makes me think that they'll end up getting a very painful but not undeserved end at the hands of The Ghost of Muammar and a bunch of angry Tuaregs.Well, only time will tell. I mean it's 2026 and the still continues on, so the fate of those two city-states is unknown. But here's the thing I'm very certain, the Green Army and Tuaregs despise them and their presence.

Very interesting map. Are you planning for a general TL since many of your maps could be part of a single word.

Very interesting map.Thanks
Are you planning for a general TL since many of your maps could be part of a single world?Yes, but for now, I'll be focusing on Libya and it impacts on the surrounding region. There's not much to show in a world map until the 2050s since there's not significant territorial change. Also, don't confuse my Gunpowder Empire series with this one, they're two different timelines.

That's really a good map. I like the idea how regional cliques have took control over this coast-near stripe.

Ah, btw the Green Army is also an awesome

Waddup yall, I'm back! This is the first map for the series for years, I never laid a hand on it because due to some complications with the lore. But now, It's time to spread its wings again.

Now, since I need some data to determine whether I should post content about it more often, I made strawpoll  to get a bigger picture from you guys!

Well, have fun, and if you wanna ask something, just comment and I'll holler.
