I like the idea of the diptych. The title refers to a closed sea, something restricted. Interesting notion. I interpret it simply as a contrast between two perspectives in this "mare clausum".
Left : Something more akin to artificial happiness (the fluorescent lines and brushes, the artificial nature of the colours as a whole).
Right : Something venomous, poisonous attacking our environment and our planet.
Background : Our world.

re what it means ?
left: temporal rift of (in)decision, an impossibly glimpsed moment of two directions existing. a schrodinger's choice. no cat -here rests simply the glow of a small life form in the balance. present / future / past all now. all somehow irrevocable. -has desperately sad and unresolved overtones..
the other ones just pretty colours.
wait, something in the shape of her aura, a choice.. -the direction of her gaze is hinting of a past treasured... valued over a more indeterminate future perhaps.. and a knowledge of place, insight, of council found when sought..
something along those lines..

you wish to know what it means? there are so many ideas floating through my head ... the woman looking inward, the woman fascinated with inner journeys ... the rebirth that every journey brings.

Call me crazy but to me it looks very symbolic, does it represent different human emotions?

Damn nice work, man. The color palette is simple yet rich.
I can see several thematic possibilities here, one being the actual vs. the ideal, as evidenced by the extra profile and the abundance of scratchy lines on the left contrasted against the serenity and simplicity of the right. Or, viewed conversely... perhaps it deals with themes of unification and wholeness, going from multiplicity to simplicity.

To me it looks like the duality of humanity being constrained to not act on desires because of certain obligations....a lack of freedom.
