That is without a doubt the most insane card game I have ever seen, although at this point, it's more like half card game/half survival battle. Excellently done all around. Nice story, nice music, nice choreography, just nice everything, basically. I seriously gotta try this with my friends sometime. xD

Yep. Watching this again, you can see the prolonged exposure to head beatings have hampered Black Shirt's intelligence (maybe it was that headbutt, everything went downhill from there).

This project was filmed on campus at The Evergreen State College in the spring of 2008, during a fast-paced and exhaustive ten week period to make the whole thing. There were many setbacks along the way (as movies tend to be), and the film underwent massive changing from day to day, often with no completed script... which was crazy considering how continuity-focused the movie had to be!
I ended up getting pretty lucky, because the movie turned out much more coherent than I feared, and I definitely learned a good lesson about the importance of pre-production. I hope you enjoy the film!

Thank you. Hmmm... it would be tough to pull together a direct continuation sequel to this movie, but someday I might revisit this concept. Originally I was planning on making a feature-length movie with a storyline, with several matches of spoons (similar rules, but with teams). It ended up being quite different, but I might do the original idea sometime.

Nice, that would be interesting. However, personally, I don't see the dificulty in making a direct sequel. You have six winners from round one, so the cast would be easier to round up, plus you could shoot different locations to make things more interesting. Also, you could have only three spoons in round two, making for closer one-on-one combat, maybe even a point where all six get into a brawl. Finally, when all is said and done, you could have a third and final round, in which the set up is in a special, secluded location, allowing for optimal action between the three main competitors. I think that would be amazing to see.

Heh heh, you may be right. Unfortunately, one of the winners left my college so we'd have to figure something out for that. Based on my current schedule, I don't think I'd have time to shoot it until summer or later, by which point another person would be gone. Also, of the four remaining actors at that point, only one knows how to do action! It would be kind of funny to put them in combat but I don't know how well that would work. But thanks for your thoughts on a continuation. I will definitely keep it in mind.

Well, when it comes to movies, there are times when they have sequels and the cast is made up of some different actors but it still works, like the casting for Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight. You could cast new people, or you could cast people who were in the first one, ans still have them as winners. By the time you come out with a sequel, enough time would have passed that it wouldn't matter if they won or lost in the first one, people would be familar enough with their characters from the first one that placing them in the sequel would seem natural.
