Description Larry Andreoff (captain & designer), Ted Griffiths and myself created this snow sculpture in Whitehorse, Yukon during the 2004 Whitehorse Sourdough Rendezvous. It is a ...white horse. The city was named after the Whitehorse rapids which slew many a gold panner and explorer.

What would be more appropriate than a white horse? Makes my fingers burn with cold just to look at though!Brings back fond memories of building snow men and snow forts as a kid- but never anything this cool.

Cool! Was this done this year?

I don't recall seeing it.. It must have been last year. I didn't get around to seeing them all last year, so this is pretty cool. I love the idea of a white horse in Whitehorse, it's just funny to me.

I love how the mane is really angled and chunky, same with the snow around it.. You guys have got an awesome style. I love making snow sculptures.. Or trying at least. Anyway, I really like it cause it's not totally smooth, it's blocky? Not sure if there's a word for that, but i really like it.

This year our team created 2 mermaids, called "Pisces". I thought it was the best, but the public didn't agree.

I recognize this building. I went there for the Arctic Winter Games in 2000. Keep going back now every now and again to visit my friend Kels. How is it up there now a days?

My only experiences ther have been a week here, a week there during winter. My latest visit there was last month, and it was wonderful, as always, but too brief. Cold environment, warm people.

well, this was a team effort, so others should be thanked as well. Larry Andreoff who did the original design, and Ted Griffiths who worked and sweated so hard.

Ah - this deviates from your usual line of abstractness
Impressive. I really like the mane (sp?... sorry, not big when it comes to horse stuff) and how the light hits it.

How long do things like that usually take you?

Mane is spelled correctly.
This took three people three days to carve.

The hair on the back of the neck seems too contrastive with the geometric approach to the rest of the body. Nice scratches. I like the legs and the neck most. The whole looks more like a pony, not expansive enough, sort of compressed, shrinked. A bit cartoony proportions.

I do have a few other pictures in the round. I'll try to create one large gallery pic. How big-10 ft tall by 8ft deep by 10 feet long. How long..3 days to carve with three people. How come....just because we can.
