Description
Easily one of the more creepier bosses in the Metroid series, Nightmare seems to have been created by the Galactic Federation or some other government body to study its powers of gravitational manipulation.Samus, however, wants it dead and out of her way.

Just to point it out, Nightmare was created by Galactic Federation for military purposes (probably as a weapon. Y'know, to send it on their enemies so it would crush them to death with its gravity powers).

Samus only wanted it dead because it was trying to kill her, and in this second encounter, also because the X-Parasites had infected it, so she had no other choice but to put the Infected Cybernetic Being out of its misery.
Pretty nice job on Nightmare there, but I don't like those wire-like fingers. Nightmares fingers are supposed to be like armoed biomechanical segmented fingers, not like exposed wires. It's appearance in Metroid Other M also clarifies this, since they look that way in that one too, and the one in Other M is apparently the same Nightmare, but just before it got Infected by the X.

It wasn't too creepy in Metroid Fusion, but the one in Metroid Other M really scared me, especially because in Phase 2, it sounds like some sort of wailing ghost baby.

See, I think it was creepier in Fusion because the music was quite unsettling, and even though you see its melty face in Other M, it just seems really macabre in Fusion.

God, who doesn't? That thing truly is a nightmare...possibly the most perfectly named boss in the history of video games. My first beat of him I think took me 2 months. He is the bane of my existence, given that Fusion is the Metroid game I replay the most often these days (although I beat Super Metroid roughly 500 times during my high school years; I used to beat it sometimes 5 times a day, when I had a day off, lol).

It took me a fair old while to get passed him on Fusion. I still don't think he's quite as scary as the Chozo Ghosts from Prime!
