Description Here's the thing, in the "universe" of Planescape (the multi-verse of D&D) there is this proud race known as bariaur. Males of this race look like horned centaurs, but when I first played it, the DM told us the females where bipeds, similar to satyrs, he though this because there was this drawing of a biped girls with beastly feet and I think it was described as a female bariaur. Ignoring the problem of mating for such a situation, it made sense to us since in no other race on D&D there is such a big difference between sexes (the racial adjustments are different and the available classes too).

So I designed this bariaur female warrior that is a friend of Ariel and then, when I made more research, I found that female bariaur are quadrupeds (the lower part looks like a ewe). So, what can I do with this girl? I don't mind saying that in our "house rules", female bariaurs look like this, but if you want to be strict we can say she is a satyr (anyone knows how a satyr girl looks?).

With this random rant I have wasted too much space, and probably few will understand the problem, but since I don't want to extend myself (more) let's leave the drawing speak for itself

My understanding has always been that there's no such thing as a female satyr per se. Satyrs mated freely with nymphs and dryads and other spirits that pretty much looked like ideal human women.

Gotta hand it to those Greeks and their double standards: plenty of mythical creatures beautiful enough for them, but none handsome enough to become a temptation to their wives.

That theory makes sense... now I wish I was a satyr, being a small hairy dude and mating with perfect women sounds good to me

The Greeks do have a lot of beautiful female creatures... but their wives have the Gods transformed into animals

Planescape rocks!!! Hence my fanfic for it.

I would say it looked like a tiefling, but they look much different. So, yah, a satyr or something.

The neck seems sort of... off. I don't think a neck can turn that far. The back looks vaugely like the chest due to the muscles. Otherwise, this is very good.

Well done. Have a !

Indeed, Planescape rocks very hard, unfortunately none of my campaigns there lasted much
Have you played Planescape Torment? It's one of my favourite RPG computer games, it captures really well the "spirit" of the world.

And yes, it could be a tiefling but I already have one... maybe I will redesign this girl to look more bariaur-ish.

Drawing the back is tricky, specially a very muscled one. It's hard to find references unless it's a body-builder pose.

Yes, I have. I need to start again on an older machine. My graphics card is, apparently, too good. Magic is rendered as blocks, and can freeze my computer until I reboot manually.

Heard of Planescape 3.5? It's here , along with extra stuff to help a DM run a Planescape campaign. I'm in the middle of one right now. We're rather glad we got out of Automata alive and unharrassed by that rather ordered mob.

I have yet to play with 3th edition rules (I'm old like that) and since I'm not playing (much) right now, I have felt kind of lazy to read and migrate to the new rules. But it sounds really interesting.

It does not help that we have not found a DM crazy enough to run Planescape and I don't want to do it while I have my Ravenloft campaign in hiatus.
But I pray to the gods to play Planescape properly someday.

How about this ?

And, to familiarise yourself with the rules, try this ?

Good to hear. Great place, if a bit buggy on occasion...
