Here's a bust I was recently commissioned to do by some wonderful folks as a gift for a very deserving person. Sock-M was only about two years old when she died of cancer just about a month ago. Her owner, Therese, posts on a pit bull forum that I moderate, and several other members of the forum chipped in to commission this bust to comemorate this beautiful dog. The sculpture was a total surprise to Therese, and she loves it.Super sculpey firm, acrylic paints, matte varnish and gloss varnish on a wooden base. About 4" tall.

i know this is an old question but the dog is an apbt or "pitbull" and this is a bust sculpture in memory of the dog.

How incredibly detailed! Everything is amazing...the framing, painting, and, of course, the sculpture itself. I don't suppose you're commissioning?
I'm sorry about the loss. It's always sad to loose a pet, I can't imagine at such a young age.

Hmmm, realistic quality of a pitbull bust, with intricate detail and beautifully colored to boot? Yes, this is definitely the work of Rgyoung.
The pitbull turned out wonderful as always, from the pleasant smile, to the life-like eyes, and the coloring is indeed beautifully colored onto the bust. I especially have a liking to the boxing gloves, as youβve managed to emulate a real pair which shares the same stitching and the puffed/padded quality in visual form. Thatβs just really well done on that and on the bust overall.
That was really sweet what those people did for her, and I think you did a top notch job on this. Excellent work as always.
