Making his debut on the first medium that isn't the side of my college notebooks--Ladies and Gentlemen, our protagonist: Heath Bloodpelt.

"The Bloodpelt Clan is a tribe of satyrs that have served as a bulwark for the nation of Ballan against aggression from hostile northern territories for centuries. Led by Hrothgar Bloodpelt and his five brothers, this warrior culture thrives on martial honor and is steeped in tradition, with nearly every member of the tribe expected to master some form of physical combat at a young age to better honor the clan's Great Oath. Every inhabitant of the eponymous region is a competent warrior, with many of the more promising adepts moving south into the nation's heart to pursue advancement into Ballan's greater gestalt of a culture.

As such, it is rare for a Bloodpelt satyr to walk the path of the White Serpent and seek the wisdom of the Spirits through Shamanism. Rarer still, that such a gift would begin to show in one as reluctantly accepted and openly mocked as Lord Hrothgar's youngest bastard son: an otherwise shamefully talentless halfbreed known as Heath..."

This is part of a series of mini ref sheets I'm doing for the cast of my comic project I'm working on in order to help get a concrete design down and make sure colors stay consistent, etc. I'll also be throwing in little flavor texty things that give a brief non-spoilery intro to the character in question while giving some small glimpses into the lore of Tecil on a greater scale (because I'm a nerd like that).

Anyway, here's the protagonist of Psalm of Viridian! Heath is what's known as a Faeblood in my canon. It is a politically correct umbrella term used to denote beings that are a mixture of Beastkin and Human, or Beastkin with a different type of Beastkin. (I have a very self-indulgently complex genealogy for the origins of races already established and how this all fits into it, but I'd rather throw out characters for now instead of what many would consider 'boring worldbuilding') As you have probably guessed by the presence of toes, Heath is half satyr (his dad's side) and half human (his mother's side). This is a pretty important plot element, but also serves to help me keep my sanity by drawing human legs all the time instead of the weird goat ones that his dad and brothers have, lol.

I won't put much else about the kid here, as I'd rather he speak for himself in the comic! I think you guys will like him.

Otto's up next! And he's a 'good guy' this time...what a shocker there.
