Description Some sketches I did in preparation for a new version of the "Jack Boomershine" piece I did earlier using stock. I'm planning to create a new original version without using stock.

This will get moved to scraps eventually...

BTW, this is the first thing I ever did with a Wacom tablet. I did this to try it out. Was still kind of clunky with it.

__________
Working toward a cover for my self-published book: Fyrelocke (Book One of the Fyrestone Collection). The passage where the main character (Jack Boomershine) finds the Fyrelocke is:

"At the center of the cave was a small pool of water, clear and perfectly still. A constant drip echoed rhythmically in the stillness. In the middle was the source of the curious purple glow. He waded to it, spotting a rock, slightly larger than a golf ball – the source of the unnatural glow that filled the cavern. The driving, pulling sensation was even stronger now. Insistent.

He stooped to pick up the rock, his eyes growing wide as he brought it even with his nose. It began pulsing, a bright purple light. No sooner had he stood fully, than a strange sensation thundered through him. His legs turned to jelly. His mind reeled.

Everything went black."

Later in the novel he finds out that the Fyrelocke is a geode with an amethyst core...

I hope you like it.
