I have a question, do you buy the set and never build the actual Lego designed thing or you actually build the Lego designed thing then take it apart.

Usually I buy the set, build it, then take it apart when I need its pieces. Sometimes I order specific parts from Bricklink .

Wow, very impressive, especially love the body design with all the gold armour bits and stuff. I prefer Gold, rather than Silver.

If I could, I'd use silver or gold Glatorian hands, but sadly they don't exist yet. If I made custom hands he wouldn't be able to hold the weapons like he does now.

Smaller version of Mata Nui and Skopio driver. They may be yellow, but it's as as we're gonna get for gold hands this year.

yeh, and when you're turmned into plastic and multiplied for kids, and people, to make into some plastic toy, yeh, you do tend to shrink a bit

Its actually kind of hard to choose. I'm inclined to say this one, however the look of the silver one was also good.

I agree, though personally I don't like the mass of gold around his head and chest. I haven't got enough gold pieces to make a purely gold Toa, so maybe I'll just rearrange some things and make some parts silver.

Perhaps, though the components you do have in gold on him don't come in silver, other than the mask of course. So I don't really see what you could do to relieve the central mass that's in question.

WOW, I really like this figure. I like a lot of the ideas you present. It saddens me to say that I don't have some of those more modern parts, but I am totally going to steal your feet idea. I hope you don't mind. I have a "if I take I give back policy," so if there's any thing I did that you want to riff on go right ahead. Just tell me that you are going to do so is all I really ask. Say,"hey I like that thing you did with Ryakk's dreadlocks I'll try that" or something. Oh and FYI, I did ryakk's dreads by using pneumatic hoses that I squeezed into some of those plus rod connectors. They give a nice effect to the character. A helpful tip for doing that is to have the end you are putting in the connector wet. It slides in easier. I'm favin this one. It inspires me to do some new things on a few of my guys. Nice job.

Well, not the smaller ones. The big ones aren't the only thing I have. I sometimes hate the bigger guys because everyone only pays attention to them. And even then, certain parts could probably be copied. And your welcome.

No, not just Ryakk and Motosaur - Ootei's torso is complex, and so is Midori-kuuki. I personally don't like copying ideas (I'll be remaking MechaSkirmix sometime because of that) so thanks for the offer, but no ^^

Cool. Well I' guess so, I mean not really. Mecha skrimix is complex, so we both know you can do complex. I think you could riff some of my ideas if you wanted to. And don't really think of it as plagiarism, think of it as being inspired to try the same thing. That's how I look at it. Bionicle MOCs aren't like songs. theres no copyright infringement here. And I think its OK to take inspiration from someone else's MOC and try it on your own thing. I use a lot of things from many of the bionicle kits. Its mostly mechanical things, but I also try cosmetic things that has been done on some of the lego kits. I encourage inspiration.You should to.

Exactly, you mean Ootei's legs? Yeah, I wanted him th have big thighs, so at the time that was the only thing that seemed to fit the feel I wanted his thighs to have. I have a second guy that's built essentially the same way, but he has a brutica head and he's a fire character. For his legs I used that spiked shoulder armor from the knights collection, but its the dark-red ones I got from an exo-force set. Next time I have a camera I'll post him.
