Description Tremorworks project: Shachihoko

This is a ferocious Chinese water demon. The Shachihoko is also a shape-shifter. When he makes landfall, he can shed his carp tail in favor of the rear quarters of a tiger.

I expect that my Yautja pack would find this fellow to be most worthy prey. I may have to give my archer something to shoot, after all...

Bwahaha... Catfish indeed. How big a line would one need to catch this bad kitty-fish?

I love that fish's tail! It is so well done. The scales look extremely good to me I also like the angry face of it. Very good job. It certainly looks most worthy prey... Dangerous and probably very big.
That catfish is a killing machine.

I like this concept and this drawing the most from this pack. It's just adorable, though I wouldn't want to meet him face to face or I would rather say "feet underwater to face" xD.

hehehe.... Such a cute furry Cat-fish!!!! Just kidding.

Awesome though. Very cool looking, and the claws look deadly ^_^.

Crash and burn that's an awesome picture. The stripes on it are beutiful (that was somewhat pointless) and the detailing with the fur. The backend looks great as well, scales so pretty. The facial expression as well.

Hee, hee. Great target for your archer, I'd say!

Awsome scale-work done, there. I love the tiger-half-s expression, too. So ferocious yet kinda cute at the same time, seeing as it's part fish. I'm not sure whether to run or fry up some butter and eat it O.o

Now there's something that would make a great trophy. Ferocious and cunning with the added zest of multiple arenas. XD

This is a very awesome piece.

Thankies. I am thinking about doing an aqua-Predator picture with this guy; he's one of my favorites among all of these demon critters I've done for Tremorworks.

Always hold demons suspect as the more challenging prey. They don't always die when you hit 'em in what would be a critical spot for a mere mortal.

Though, would the Predators have more problems with the Shachihoko, or Panoplichthys imperator?

Thanks! 'Tis easy and fun, but occasionally time-consuming.

I know what you mean. Like my spider image. Experimenting with those styles of hatching (or... rather... similar styles). Took longer than some paintings I've done.

Wasn't the Shachihoko Japanese?
(His image was often invoked to protect buildings from fire there)

LOL - thanks. Only this guy is both icthyc and mammalian, while you had the good sense to use a mammal for both halves.
