Trying to get myself out of a bit of a writing slump by producing self-indulgent fanart for my ongoing endless ongoing fanfic novel The Embalmer's Apprentice. This time, it's Lord Eärendur and Lady Nolwen of Andúnië. Before the Erukyermë incident, presumably. I suspect they’re the sort of insufferable happily-married old couple who annoy the other nobles to no end, not because they’re going out of their way to be annoying but just because they’re so disgustingly in love even after all those decades (or at all) and can’t help showing it, like OME yes, we GET it, you love your spouse, they’re the best, they’re the light of your life, we KNOW. (I love them, I really do.)

Yes, my Númenórean dudes have beards. If even Elves like Círdan or Mahtan grow bears eventually, it makes no sense to me that the Númenóreans wouldn't. At the time of the story, they tend to let it grow at a certain age (when they start to grey), although in future centuries the King's Men will doubtlessly shave clean and dye their hair to look younger even on the brink of death...
