Description A new star is rising - and those he left behind know it.

Maglor, young Elros and Elrond and Maedhros (that's the dark red-headed thingy in the background, in case you were wondering ). Also a background you may grow familiar with, as random flat landscape is so delightfully easy when you can't avoid having to do a background... >_>

I've added this one to favorites. I love the stories of Maglor and the twins and this drawing reminds me of some of them. I also happen to like your starry skies a lot! (as in the illustration of the crossing of Helcaraxe)

Thanks! I'm thrilled that you like it. I also have a soft spot for stories about Maglor-as-an-adoptive-father - I guess because they offer some consolation and friendliness in an otherwise dark and frustrating time.

I guess so..I like to think one always can find a friend when least expected it.

I love the complicated Peredhil family relations! Have you ever thought about that what Earendil is thinking in this moment?

Oh yes. I figure it would be a mixture of exhilaration - he is, after all, space-travelling - and regret...

Oh yes, he is the irst Middle-earth astronaut! Earendil is such a fascinating character... I've written a story about him watching his descendants, if you have the mood to read it sometimes: [link]

That was some very interesting writing. I especially liked the allusion to Tuor - I'd never thought of that before, but it really fits and casts a whole new light on EΓ€rendil's character (and on the Valar, too...). It must have been very hard for him to watch the downfall of NΓΊmenor, and the continuing deterioration of the line of Elros without being able to help... poor fellow!
So how did you go about the real time "publication"? Did you reserve one hour (or more, or less, whichever it takes ) for writing and posting, or did you write each piece a day in advance, or how did it work? Seems quite tricky to me, committing yourself to such a timeline!

Tuor? Could you tell me where it was, please? I'm glad if you liked it, but I fear it was not intentional - the allusion that I wanted to create was to HΓΊrin...
And I'll tell you something, I hope it doesn't feel like cheating, but I had the whole story written before posting the first chapter

And you did. I just got things mixed up. That's what I get for trying to deal with several things (i.e., re-reading Elwing stuff for my latest painting and replying to your comment) at once...
*embarrassed*

Ah hah! Well, I guess it kiiiind of is cheating... but then you only said you were posting in real time, not writing. So that's just fine. It's probably what I would've done too - otherwise it's just too likely I'd skip days or lose inspiration halfways through... (I have a few WiP fanfictions on the loose, and I feel terribly bad when it takes me months and months to add another chapter.)

ah, ok I just wondered where was Tuor

Exactly, I said *posting* I wouldn't be able to write this way, because I need someone to check my grammar in English. I begin posting a story first when it's finished or when I know that I'll be able to finish it.

Awww. My two favourite Noldor.

I have an idea what is Maglor singing. It's obvious.

Thank you!

Actually I suspect that in this scene he's just singing something simple and harmless - something he doesn't mind teaching Elrond.

Oh, I thought of "Stars". Although it may be too low for an Elf's range...

*laughs* That is a beautiful idea. With some small changes to the lyrics, that would totally work.

Yes, change Lord to Eru, or Varda. And Lucifer to Morgoth.
