Description Boomer is a Walker Hound, who I am told is the sweetest dog in the world which is odd because I thought my dogs were the sweetest dogs in the world.
Confusing.

Lol "Strike up a deal"? Dumb saying. Anyhow, you know what I meant. I'll not be good enough to draw anything even slightly that good, for long time, if ever. I think my son would love something like that.

I'm just now getting around to more of your work. I try not to fave too much of one person per week, to leave more room for others. But sometimes I go hog wild *oink*. Anyhow I don't know how you do what you do. I swear this looks like a photograph it's so perfect, so beautiful. Maybe sometime we could strike up a deal for you to draw Umber (my son's cat, but who was really both of ours, and she had to live with me the whole 16 years because son wasn't allowed pets there). I would like to give it to him as a gift. He still misses her. Anyhow, sometime we can talk about this? Dunno if I have good enough photos?

I dunno either. we can talk about it certainly. I love that name Umber.

RainySkyz In reply to pyrrhite [2010-05-16 02:10:21 +0000 UTC]

Think I have a blurry photo of her in my animals section. She was gorgeous. Earthy colors. Great huge sometimes sage, sometimes yellow eyes--bigger than ocelot, but she did have unmistakable ocelot rings on her fur in younger years, depending upon time of year. Also stripes. Her body was not big and hulky like her black/gray/cream striped brothers. Her tail was pitifully skinny and scrawny, made weak and stiff toward the end of her life. Probably because a so-called friend and husband twirled and threw her, I don't know how many times, from it,before I found out. They said, "Cats love it, doesn't hurt them at all" and I corrected, "Primates, yes. Cats, no!" They refused to listen, even after I phoned the local vet who concurred with me that such activities not only can permanently damage the tail but also the spine! That (and other things) ended that so-called friendship forever, while it took years of dedicated deep breaths in mind and emotions not to unleash every negative thing I could think of in their direction. Umber did show signs of tail and spine damage which worsened. She was such a dear. Tender and kind, never harmed anyone. I will write that story sometime. Already wrote bits and pieces over in comments, like this.

Oops. Here I go again. lol

Thank you. Right now a drawing like this takes me well over 40 hours to get those particular results. I'm hoping to get more efficient sometime before I die...

subedei In reply to pyrrhite [2010-04-11 17:18:30 +0000 UTC]

lol well it shows that you spend 40 hours on them, they are amazingly detailed and rendered and I like how you dont get lost in the rendering but keep their soul alive throughout that lengthy process

pyrrhite In reply to subedei [2010-04-11 20:20:25 +0000 UTC]

I am fascinated by sharp-focus realism in graphite work but am not really striving for that in my own drawings, so I am always trying to keep from getting too absorbed in detail at the expense of freshness and life, if you know what I mean.

sorry for the long absence again... theatre takes over my life. I had an interesting dream a while ago about what would happen if I decided to stop doing stuff in the theatre and take back all of the work i've done... pretty much, no one would be using the lights for a while xD

Power's working on you, like Bilbo's ring, best be careful...

Shanen888 In reply to pyrrhite [2010-02-10 04:04:23 +0000 UTC]

it's true, the power feels really cool. However, not all that often. I just got back from a really stressful, unproductive, and dissapointing rehearsal. Not so happy about being in charge of lights. Well actually i'd be fine with being in charge of LIGHTS, but I'm trying to coordinate all of tech too, because apparently the sound op and person doing set changes aren't responsible enough to actually go to rehearsal.

pyrrhite In reply to Shanen888 [2010-02-10 05:14:02 +0000 UTC]

Hm, they think rehearsals are optional?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shanen888 In reply to pyrrhite [2010-02-10 05:19:58 +0000 UTC]

well they think they have more important things to do. the set change person does have class to go to, but I think he needs to miss class for the final rehearsal. Oh sh** I just realized he needs to come because it's an invited dress, so there will be an audience and he needs to be there.... crap.
The sound person... i have no idea. She didn't give a reason, just said she couldn't make it. We think she was hanging out with her boyfreind.

pyrrhite In reply to Shanen888 [2010-02-10 05:22:00 +0000 UTC]

she probably was, too, good grief.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shanen888 In reply to pyrrhite [2010-02-10 05:28:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah we actually found out she was because a mic wasn't working, and she wouldn't answer her phone, so we called her boyfreind and asked to speak with her... and she was there. I was working on lights with the SM at the time, so I didn't find out what she was actually doing though.
