Description Read about the location etc. here: [link]

I think I failed to mention in the other insanely long post , my dress and bolero (jacket ) were made by me As much as I like the colors that this room has, with the nutso colors of the lighting, it just looks so much cleaner in black and white... Which always takes me forever to process because I can't just desaturate and call it a day No, I have to pick out a gradient I like, then add several layers of gradients, maybe some grain too (here I used the 'film grain' artistic tool, not one of my favorites, but it worked here I think?) And then adjust the contrast and exposure and blah blah... And all because instead of being like normal people and giving a place some light, the Alabama Theatre decided to stay historically accurate Oh well, guess I can't fault them too much hehe...

As for the title... well, according to the theater historian, this piece of furniture is called a "courting couch" and was meant for a lady and her gentleman suitor to sit opposite each other, with their chaparones sitting in the remaining opposite seats. and this was less than 100 years ago? My how times have changed....

I hope you didn't have to wait too long for this one

Very nice job converting it to B&W. Very clean, and the light looks just right.

thanks! the dress is so bright, I thought it might be a little overpowering next to the floor, but I guess it works

Maybe if it was left in colour, but you offset that by making it a b&W.

The b&W does look better and cleaner. I love using the film grain Yeah, it takes a lot of work to get a photo just right. And you did a good job at it. Great job with making your dress. When will you go into business of making dresses?

hehe I doubt I ever make dresses for a profit... I'm way too impatient with sewing, so the insides of my stuff aren't professionally done, because it takes longer

looks like all that work did pay off at the end! nice contrast and you had a good photographing spot! love the clean image of the room and the girl and how the image didn't blur out

thanks so much! I had to use a combination of the flash and a slightly long exposure so the room was well exposed
