Description Name: Livyatan Melvillei
Class: Mammal
Diet: Carnivore
Size: 36 to 57 feet long, 57 tonnes
DANGER: Sharp Teeth, Strong Jaws, Massive Size, Extremely Dangerous
Range: Warm Ocean Waters Worldwide, 9.9 to 8.9 Million Years B.C.
Habitat: Temperate Coast
Conservation Status: Extinct
Description: The Livyatan is an extinct genus of Sperm Whale that swam the world's oceans during the Miocene Epoch, the first known fossils were found in the Pisco Formation in Peru, but singular teeth have been found in several parts of the world, like Argentina, Chile, South Africa, and Australia, this implies that it most likely had a wide native range during its time.  Named after the biblical sea monster known as the Leviathan, this predatory whale was also named after the author Herman Melville, who had wrote the famous book "Moby-Dick", the book being centered around a highly dangerous albino bull Sperm Whale.  Though Sperm Whales of today are predators on their own, the Livyatan was a true killer, a hyper-predatory macroraptorial Sperm Whale, the teeth alone on this animal can be up to 1.2 feet in length, and also unlike modern Sperm Whales, the Livyatan had teeth on both the top and bottom jaws, which were more than capable of inflicting major wounds on its prey.  During its time, it would have most likely encountered the Megalodon, a giant predatory shark species, when it hunted for food, competing with the Megalodon for the same prey, it is also likely that these 2 apex predators would have fought each other for food or territory.  How the Livyatan went extinct is a mystery, but the leading theory of this whale's extinction is a major cooling event of ocean waters at the end of the Miocene Epoch, which had caused the Livyatan's prey populations to go down dramatically, thus causing the Livyatan and the Megalodon to go extinct.
Mod: Livyatan Melvillei (Austroraptor, Lookout & DinosaurMan)  www.tapatalk.com/groups/gaia1/…
Personal Thoughts: I have heard about this animal thanks to the game Jurassic Park Builder, may that game rest in peace, simply called the Leviathan,  so it's nice to have this animal in Zoo Tycoon 2.  Also, this one used the dolphin animations, but they are slowed down to the right pace of a whale, this is what every other whale mod should have done a long time ago, this mod perfectly does that.  Every whale mod should look at this for how to properly do the right speed for their whales, it would help improve them by a long shot.  Plus this one has no bugs or glitches, and the modeling and textures are realistic.
My Rating: 10/10

Really?  I recall the animations of the manatee have it moving its head, which is what for example Moby Dick from the Paranoia mod has, this one doesn't have that head movement.  Or is it Manatee AI on dolphin animations with this mod?  I can't view the .bfm files of the specific mod animals.

This is by far my favorite cetacean mod available. That and the extant Sperm Whale.

It's a shame almost all large bodied marine animal mods that use either Dolphin or Shark AI are always too fast. Especially when it comes to extinct fauna, Like Shonisaurus, Megalodon and Basilosaurus.

As far as I know, every mod for those animals that exist are entirely too fast.
