Lyra is the daughter of the Pokémon Daycare family just south of Goldenrod City, and at the age of ten, set off with her friend Hibiki for a romp around the Johto Region that led the pair into an encounter with Ho-Oh, and a redemption arc for the humans of Johto. Gold's battle prowess stamped out Team Rocket a second time, and Lyra's kindness rebuilt the bridge between Johto, and its Guardian.
She also surpasses Gold by helping the Elm Lab collect data from baby Pokémon, and has been far more diligent in filling out her Pokédex. With so many partners to care for, she has also become something of a low key pro Trainer in Johto, and many people still call her to arrange rematches, which they reportedly do not win.
