Looks beautiful, especially owing to attention to details and textures. Especially in their clothes.
Aryon is indeed an awesome character, also my favourite, since the biggest chaunk of my Morrowind experience (and it was vast) was playing a Telvanni mage. Unlike your lovely character, mine was male, and attracted mostly to Breton women. But sometimes I imagined him and his mentor sitting somewhere in Tel Vos, drinking brandy and talking about Dwemers. Maybe even described it in one of fanfics I've never translated let alone published. Vos and Tel Vos are very pleasant locations, too. Worth fighting for. Sometimes I also mused how did Aryon manage to take over them, make the duke retreat?

He's Telvanni. You probably don't want to know.

Hey! I recognise that dressβ¦

plangkye In reply to AmethystSadachbia [2013-12-26 20:56:36 +0000 UTC]
Yes it would. Robes are hard-coded to completely invisify the torso, upper arms, and upper legs, to save on processing power, because the game assumes that "robe" means "covers these parts." For anything else that shows skin on those areas, it would make parts of your character invisible.

If you're using the construction set anyway, you could also set your dress of choice up as a piece of whatever weight of armor you prefer. Just make sure that if said object is bought from a merchant, the merchant is set to sell armor as well as clothing.

Does it have to be a specific type of piece (e.g. cuirass)?
I noticed on some of the custom dresses in mods I have that the mesh is set to some weird part of the player model, like the "feet" section, but when worn it's dress-sized and covers the whole body. Of course, wearing other things interferes with its visibility in these cases. Is there a mechanics reason why doing that is better than statting it as a shirt?

It does not matter what armor piece you use. The only wearable articles that will erase body parts are robes and skirts - and you can't use amulets or belts either because they don't render at all. The reason for using weird body parts for some pieces is the way Better Bodies is set up: because there are no asymmetrical equipment pieces that are worn on the legs (e.g. no "Left Boot" and "Right Boot"), when upgrading the partitioned vanilla bodies to a skinned mesh, this means you can treat both legs as a single body part because all relevant equipment would cover both sides anyway. Taking advantage of this, the Right Upper Leg, Right Knee, Right Ankle, and Right Foot are now used for both legs. Without this, equipping something in any body slot will erase that part, but with the right leg duplicated and carrying the left leg's models as well, the left leg's body parts are now free to use for any non-covering equipment (standard being Left Ankle used for shirts/cuirasses, to avoid conflicts). In addition to this, the Clavicle parts (used for the large, outside-the-robe portion of pauldrons) and the Skirt body part (NOT the skirt clothing slot! Clothing slot will erase groin and thighs) do not overwrite any body parts and can be used for non-covering equipment as well.
The downsides to all this: Anything using a body slot other than hands, wrists, or arms will not render in first person mode, and any pair of boots or long pants that still operates via the traditional vanilla style of using body parts on both legs can conflict with Better Bodies equipment (armored boots might end up taking your dress off, for instance). Better Clothes helps alleviate this second issue, partially, because it upgrades vanilla pants.

Perfect... perfect... and even more perfect. You captured the beauty of Tel Vos, Morrowind, and the Dunmer so well... Very, VERY nice.
Makes me wonder why Oblivion didn't come BEFORE Morrowind, considering TES IV seemed more like a downgrade than an upgrade, especially in terms of art, variety, and overall creativity. This is DEFINITELY getting faved. Very well done!

I actually learned to use a tablet on my own, since there are no digital art classes anywhere around here at all: since I was already proficient in pencil+scanner+Photoshop+tablet as my preferred medium, my teacher said he was cool with me doing that instead of forcing myself to learn physical paint.
As for 'learn to do art' books, I made a huge mistake by reading those, or at least those that teach you "the" anime style (which greatly hindered me in terms of developing my own style). I've never read any books on actual figure drawing, but I'd imagine those would be the ones to go after.

Disregard previous comment - so you're working on a mod that lets the PC be an artist, with the result varying based on trainable artist skill? Sounds cool! I'm game.

I've organized all my Morrowind fanart into a folder in my gallery labeled 'Morrowind' - feel free to use whatever you like, although a few of them are unsuitable (being things other than drawings/paintings, that is). I've just finished another painting like the first one you chose, too.

Oh, I'm just a little iffy about OC and NPC pairings. But I don't blame you, Master Aryon is the cheese. 8D A visionary! Dynamic!
Oooooh! 8D Lovely! I'm muy impressed, my friend. Who's the love interest for Redorans? :}

Ah, neat-o. What is Varvur Sarethi's personality like, in your mod? He seemed sort of young to me.

plangkye In reply to Sneeuw-Wolfskers [2008-10-10 02:01:44 +0000 UTC]
He's definitely young, and the personality I have planned for him is that he's eager to grow up and really wants to be a good Redoran councilman when it comes time to take his father's place, but he's still a little naive.

No, it is! It's a mod that adds romantic subplots based on which Great House you join. Aryon is the love interest for female Telvanni.

I am, sort of - it's shelved right now, since summer is such a busy time for me with all the anime conventions and my friends being back from college.
Altered Aryon's appearance, have you? Hmm, so have I...

Lauretha [2008-10-06 19:12:12 +0000 UTC]
Omg, you are about... the first person I have seen using this plot bunny, besides me! In my times I have written a fanfiction saga about Aryon and my pc (who was a bosmer, on the second take... but never mind the specifics, the only interesting detail is that it officially was my first major character ever to be petite - I am tall in real life, and usually my chars follow suit. But she didn't, and it was fun to play with, being short for once!) - I modified his appearance, of course, as these generic in-game heads are positively awful, and he as one of the members of the High Council should definitely have his own, custom one... Bur wow! It is great to see that some one else thinks that Aryon is an extremely interesting character, and a possible romantic choice. And I love your clothes design. Positively awesome!^^'

Aryon is easily my favorite character in the entire game. He's just flat-out awesome in almost every possible way. Divayth Fyr and Crassius Curio are pretty good too in their own ways, but they can't touch Aryon.

Lauretha In reply to plangkye [2008-10-07 20:01:59 +0000 UTC]
Same here, and I agree about Fyr! I also like this guy from the Redoran house... What was his name... hm.. you know, the 'hope' of house Redoran. ...I didn't play it for ages now, it seems I have forgot... Athyn Sarethi? I think...
Oh, and the crazy mistress of house Telvanni! House Telvanni is easily my favourite, that's for sure... House Redoran would come second, I guess.

plangkye In reply to Lauretha [2008-10-08 01:58:55 +0000 UTC]
Athyn Sarethi is a pretty cool guy. Unfortunately, unlike Aryon, he isn't single... and yeah, Therana's pretty awesome. I love House Telvanni. We get to live in giant hollow mushrooms, and any way you slice it that's freaking sweet.
