I absolutely adore this piece! Saw it in Mark Witton’s “The Palaeoartist's Handbook” for the first time a couple of months ago and saw it again while reading it today, went looking on the internet, and here we are!

This is the best usage of pink on a pterosaur I've seen. Da bois are so cute! OWO

The waves are painted beautifully! I kind of like the pink on the pterosaurs, the colors are lovely.

This is just amazing.. You really should do more pterosaur pieces like this.

As long as they don't go wacky and attempt any fancy skim-feeding, this is quite a neat image! Particularly like the colour schemes of the pterosaurs, vibrant but not garish.

They might dip their beaks in to grab fish from below the surface, but no crazy skim feeding shenanigans. That's just asking for a broken jaw!
I'm glad you like the colour schemes, it's inspired a little by bats, but mostly by birds!

This is very good. Reminds me a lot of Simon Stalenhag's work.

I'm a huge fan of his work, I love his style and crispness, so there's definitely inspiration there from him. I'm still learning and getting a feel for things, hopefully the similarities aren't too blatant and I'm desperately feeling around for my own style!

This is fantastic. Love the transparency of the water and how natural the pterosaurs look there. And Rhamphorhynchus is one of my favorites.

Thank you! I wanted to try a colour that was a bit different from the usual red and yellow that was my first thought. Pink fits!

Thank you! I took the photos the morning I painted this, so the feeling was fresh in my mind (and the salt still in my hair).

Yeah they're certainly one of my favourites. The tail is great, the teeth are adorable and they're not too huge, haha!
