Sooner or later, this was going to happen. And despite saying, "I won't be drawing anything for a week, I'm going to France!" I started drawing this the night before I left. So I was in France all week itching the draw (finally sketched a portrait of my friend in Monet's garden, very appropriate if I do say so) and came back home to color this!

Alchemists of the Caribbean... Ed and Al as pirates! Arakawa-sensei has already drawn the Elrics as pirates, but Al was armor so he deserves another chance at this. I've made Ed the first mate and Al the captain, mainly because I didn't want to cover Ed up in the jacket and wanted to show off his shirt. Al looks sexier in the coat anyway.

I went with a simple background to mimic a treasure map, but used the X in the type. The font is Caribbean's Treasure, a free font made to look like the Pirates of the Caribbean font. Dotted lines were made in PS, I just manipulated a preset brush.

I'm definitely very pleased with this piece.

PS CS4 + Wacom tablet + 4-5 over several days, I worked slower on this
