This was drawn for the livejournal elricest community April Elricest Revival Movement. This is the way things were meant to be, Ed and Al together, whether it's romantic or platonic, they complete each other in ways no one else could. And I'm just happy that our pairing fandom has had such a fervent revival. Let's extend this longer than just April! Keep going, elricest fans!

Not an Elricest shipper at ALL (platonic brotherly love is PLENTY powerful and awesome on its own, no unhealthy romance or sex needed, thank you very much), but this picture is wonderful! They resemble each other a lot - on the other hand, they are polar opposites wo fit together as if they were one.
I always found it amusing that the two of them together embody one of the main principles of alchemy - but then again, Arakawa marked the homunculi with the Ouroboros of all things... I love it when artists show off their research work. Especially when it ends up as a wonderful brotherhood.
