A very powerful piece provoking thought and a variety of emotions.
Notice the sparsity of colour throughout indiciative of a hollowness or emptiness - bar the pale pinks towards the bottom right which appear to represent a throbbing or niggling inside the mind. Perhaps thoughts of regret or indecisiveness.
The blood stain is smartly placed, being towards the centre of the picture to draw people's attention admist the contrast of white sends home a blunt truth and poignant in-your-face violation of personal matters.
The fact that the girl's back is turned to it while facing the edge of the picture is perhaps metaphorical for facing the wall. Neatly, a punishment used for children. This paired with the fact that the girl does infact appear relatively young and is almost in the fetal position in shyness projects youth aptly.
The text amidst the white is accentuated and in similar aching shades of pink, invocative of recurring thoughts that plague the girl. Perhaps she worries about her reputation amongst family and friends.
A well executed piece that sends a litle jolt to your heart and a spark to your brain.

Seeing that this is two years old, I hope your friend is doing well today. I hope she doesn't feel any guilt for what she's done and has moved on from that incident. Beautiful picture by the way.

Virginity is a precious thing, but most don't tend to realize it till they have lost it in a way that they feel wasn't "right". And those of us who still are virgins feel that we are freaks (depending on our age, the older, the more ashamed people tend to feel about being a virgin) because we haven't found someone to take it from us.
It is something that sometimes women regret their whole lives. But...regardless, as long as your friend is alright, that she's healthy and that her circumstances improved, maybe she won't regret it and infact it might end up being a blessing that she lost it the way she did.
As long as her friends and family are there to support her and love her, I'm sure she'll be alright.

It's alright. We are all human, and even when we do something that could be/is wrong, we hope that someone is there for us, giving us support and saying that it's alright instead of just shunning us and telling us were a bad person.
I really do hope she's alright now though.

This is piece is beautiful in such a sad and melancholic way...one that really makes me feel compassion and sympathy for the girl.
I won't judge your friend,I don't know her,but even if I did,I think that what she has to go through now is more than enough to make her understand what she did...she may also had her reasons. Nevertheless,I don't support her action.She herself surely deserved better than that.
I can only hope that she is better now,and that she will have wonderful experiences and relationships in the future that will help her get over this.Please be there for her.

And now that you asked, looks like most people doesn't give importance for this anymore, people are getting superficial, and forgetting the real "Love". It's all about "Sex" for most people. This is so horrible for me.
I don't know why she did that but, that's something to do with somone you love. Not with a dirty man. But with someone who proves himself deserving, and loving.

Virginity is something highly precious to me and I would never dare to give it away like, I have even though about not giving it at all due to some personal reasons.
Like they mentioned in some comments above, there is no way to judge her since none of us know her nor the circumstances she was under to sell it away.
I hope she is doing better by now though~

there are many ways of seeing a defloration:
- a way to become an adult
- a loss of purity
others may very well be reluctant
i didn't sell my virginity, but it was almost the same
i didn't like the guy i gave it to
i didn't feel anything (no pain, no pleasure just squishiness)
i regret it even now because it almost made me turn from bisexual to lesbian
i regret it because i don't really know why did i do it, i only used the depression i had as an excuse thinking that "i worked hard to keep my family tight.. and now i lost it... might as well loose myself"
my lover is reluctant and doesn't care to think of it... but he did spoke his opinion about it
and in his opinion i was a whore... for making what should of been love with someone i didn't love and for daring to say that i actually like someone at that time too.
hearing about your acquaintance only makes me think of two thing:
-what could be in her heart that she went to this measure (there are plenty women, and girls that are naive and think that if they give away their virginity they win the hearts of the men they desire.... some may even attempt to get pregnant to achieve this goal... and many end up heartbroken)
-it's simply not the best choice of making money (even if she wasn't a virgin i still won't suport prostitution, i see it as a horible job having to sleep with any filthy old and maybe drunk man that can be dangerous and unpredictable)
i may sound protective here, but even women that prostitute are women... all women are sensitive and helpless... they're best protected by a deserving man

you can feel the undescriable atmosphere of the woman
you can only try to guess how she really feels
i'm sure it was some sort of sacrifice she made in order to get something else
and even makes the viewer empathise with her

What I love the most about your comment is that all women deserve to be protected. Screw the feminist thinking: yes you can be a strong woman and independent and free to make your own decisions but still some element of women deserves to be protected.

I guess everyone is curious about the details and have their own opinions. To me whatever the person says was her reason is right for her, whatever it may be over what anyone personally thinks. That's what it just comes down to just like your picture is uniquely drawn in a person's mind and belongs to them.

I could never do that. I'm still a virgin and I'm really wanting to be married first. I'm very old fashioned when that is involved. I think that might cause something some years down for your friend to possibly regret or just when the money runs out. I don't know how she is but more sadfacing ;-;

My opinion on viginity is that it's something you shouldn't take for granted. You only have it once and it should be shared with someone you trust and love.
My first time ended as a one timer and I still regret it. I would have waited if I knew he was such a jerk. Past can't be undone.
But to sell ones viginity.... It just seem to happen more often and often in the modern wold and no longer cultural (e.g. geishas).... I just read that young women (in DK) between 17 and 30 years old prostitute themselves for some extra money even though they have a normal education or work. What have happened to the world!?! People seem to be ready doing anything for money
