Description The LOVELY and I were talking about a (long ago) 1920's AU I had for Spamalot that I had come to believe was a dead plot bunny for me. Well, it's not dead yet!

In it, Arthur runs a underground nightclub/ speakeasy (which I've just decided to call 'Camelot' because, why not?). Robin's the emcee, Patsy's a bartender, and Herbert and Lady are performers. It's not too much of a stretch that the Lady of the Lake would be a lounge singer, because, hey, she already IS one during 'Knights of the Round Table/ Song that Goes Like this (Reprise) - watch the AMAZINGLY TALENTED Sara Ramirez perform it here www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmAta6…

I can imagine her outfits for her performances would be very, very lavish just like they are in the show  and I based the one she's wearing on this, which reminds me a little bit of her "Come With Me" outfit without the seashells- 2.bp.blogspot.com/-dMhusKI-GJg…

More art of this AU to come because I'm falling back in love with it

Hooray for Not-Dead-Yet Plotbunnies!

Ahhh, the Lady looks awesome here! I really like how you drew her hair, with that little feather at the top too. And oh gosh, I especially love how you designed her dress after an actual dress from the 1920s!! Most modern-day flapper dresses aren't exactly the most accurate to the era, I find. I can see imagine her dress in color - lots of teals and blues and greens, maybe some golden pearls. She's nothing short of wonderful
(And that little guitar of hers! It can be useful if/when someone gets too rowdy or too silly )

I can't wait to see the others! :'D

Hooray!!

It's been fun, doing the designs for the female character who have extremely long hair in canon (including Lucky and Zoot and Dingo) and drawing them all with bobs. And I'm glad you liked my fashion research! I had to do a project on the 1920's as an era a while back and I chose the topic of fashion, so it's definitely been helping. I want to do a color version of Lady's costumes because I think it'd be a blast to draw. I actually might get her done as well as a few other characters this afternoon because I got called off due to the weather.

((The guitar was a cute little detail in the pose I was looking at - don't know if Lady would actually play the guitar, but would definitely use it if people got too silly. XD))

That sounds like it was a fun project to do! And it provides research material as well, so that's always a good thing. (That reminds me, I had to make an infographic for my Western History course last year, and I did mine on Art Deco, which was a super popular art style back in the 1920s. Art Deco influenced lots of stuff, from building exteriors/interiors to art pieces to fashion. Could be helpful to research on that for this AU as well!) And ooh, yes I'd love to see Lady's other outfits, colored or otherwise! As well as the others. :'D

((Hmm, you have a point. Who would be the one playing the guitar, then? I imagine if things got too silly Lady would just yank that guitar out of the hands of whoever's playing it and them BAM! ))

We actually did a "radio show" where we need interviews with important figures of the 20's and then I did a fashion advice segment. It was right before Christmas, so it was a fun project to do before we left for break. And yeah! That would be very helpful. I just started drawing Lance, Lucky, and Herbert but I messed up the coloring so I might have to re-draw.

((Definitely! I can see the guitar belonging to one of Robin's minstrels, who would be the jazz band in the club.))

Aw man, that really does sound like fun! I wish I could've done something like that as well during my high school years. (Heck, even as a college student I'd love to do something like that...) And I'll be looking forward to those drawings! (Ugh, messing up on the coloring is one of the most irritating things to happen to an artist...)

((Poor minstrel. XD))

Thank you~ It's such a fun show, I've seen it three times! My dad raised me on Monty Python, so it's one of my favorites.
