Your welcome. I have also found some of my first images to be among my best.

so, back to the roots then.
let's throw away these dslrs and get back to the 3 megapixel or 35mm point and shoot cameras.

I wouldn't care to downgrade my technology only because that often also downgrades your images. Though I'm currently doing a little work with 35mm film and the inefficiency of it is killing me.

wow thank you for asking, I hope its not too late.
I have no problem with it as long as its nothing more than a school project.

thank you, I guess you are right with the button and you are not the only one. I still have this phone, maybe I will take a new shot in the future.

i was just browsing users and i came upon your pgae from the little manikan man reading a book wich i also enjoyed and inspired me, then i saw this on your page and it caught my eye the old school telephone reminded me of the matrix and some sweet art house shot of it to set the scene. not sure if that made sense but it really is a wonderfull shot and i really enjoy it.

I love it... It just makes me feel like throwing the mobile at the wall, unplugging the land lines, and thrashing the computer. I hate communications so much sometimes. I love the composition, i especially love the lighting, and exposure used.... I see you've used a Minolta, i had one of those ... they were awesomely craptacular! but hey, i loved it! I love the fact you've used an old fone, and that its black.... I've wanted one of those phones for many years.... I just love the image!!

haha....
I work in a bank, we had a tech guy there doing something, and he screwed it all up, so our computers went down, and we were manually trying to do stuff.... it was hectic! so i know how you feel!

i really like the oldish kinda feel that this photo expresses. i think a frame would give it a better overall look though.

Ooh, I love this. The atmosphere and mood are almost spooky, kind of like an old-fashioned horror movie... The phone off the hook maybe representing the victim's one and only hope of rescue... Wonderful photo that really tells a great story. Since you've asked for advanced critique, I might clone that button out behind the phone, as it's a bit distracting. Still overall it's an amazing piece of art photography. Well done.

Thank you so much for this critique and the nice words. I think now that I've got a new camera I will re-shoot this picture someday.

this is awesome... the focus, mood, lack of any real color... nice work. the only thing i'd change is the little button on the phone is slightly distracting.

Thank you very much, yes the little button was a point that made me thinking too. I've left it there because its a part of the phone. But maybe it should be a little bit darker.
Thank you for the critique I really appreciate that.

Oooh, such a story behind this. A dusty, perhaps old-fashioned phone, receiver off the hook. The cord even looks a bit like chains .. very spooky. I once again love your use of shadow. With the composition, though, I wish the body of the phone was a little more to the right, and the receiver more to the left, just to separate them and create some sense of shape in the picture.

Thank you, after all that feedback and now with my new camera, I'm planning some new pictures with this phone, I think I will place it as you said, it really makes sense.
