Two souls forever trapped in one vessel. In life this Grem was cared for greatly by its human owner for decades, their bond unshakable and depthless. During a nature hike that they would often share together, the Grem tragically slipped and fell on slick rock and down a cliffside, becoming paralyzed from the waist down.

For months still afterward they would not be separated, the owner tending to and caring for the Grem's broken body day in and day out. It was not enough, and when the Grem was on the cusp of death the owner held them in their arms and screamed, pleaded, and begged to be taken in their stead.

At the very instance of death something shifted. A rift was formed and the two souls merged into one.

As it was in life, so it is in death.

One can never be without the other.
