Description First in a series of quick portraits I did virtually overnight, allegories for the driving force behind humankind’s most daring achievements and its unyielding perseverance. I noticed that whenever these aspects of human nature are portrayed, they are almost always portrayed as women. I decided to do it somewhat differently, and portray them as men.

All three portraits are 9x12". All were done in black & white graphite and black ink on tinted paper. In this one I also used a blue colored pencil for the highlight. Original sold, prints available.

There is a certain amount of faith that must be placed in any aspect of reality, otherwise, we would not be in existence...

the Celtic tattooes on this Druidic figure are an interesting statement on the history of beliefs and religions throughout civilization..

tribalism preceded civilization, as we know, and many elements of tribalism have survived even to this day..

The images are powerful enough that their memes are now incorporated into our pop-culture mainstream...

This series is an excellent exercise for you, I would really love to see you work with paints- I'm positive you could make as great an impact with oils as you do with pencil and paper...

Why thank you for such a profound comment, I really do appreciate it. This was not merely an exercise, however, but a series of drawings very important to me.

As for oils, I have a lot of pieces in different media in my gallery... Oils, watercolors, gouache, you name it. I love my art supplies.

OMG I've hardly ever seen anything more beautiful! What a wonderful portrait, and I love the use of blue highlights as well as the conventional white ones. Simply stunning.

I love the emotion in the eyes, they have so much more to them there is actually character.
