I just love the old troll forests of myth hence I must draw trolls

I really love all the excellent details in this, especially the attention you lavished on the trees and background. The troll is a little hard to see though, without colour... I think it's the white space where the waterfall is looks similar in texture to the back of the troll.. they kinda blend together and the troll gets lost. That could have been intentional though... if you wanted the troll to have a sort of "natural camouflage".
Either way, it's a really nice piece.

Yes, it is intentional, I wanted people to first look at the piece as a whole and see a detailed forrest and after a little closer look discover that there's a troll standing in the middle of it. I always enjoy surprises of this kind myself so I thought it would be a good thing. Thanks mind you

Then it really works well, and you've achieved your purpose! It kinda makes sense too, since I would imagine trolls, being creatures of the forest, needing to blend into their surroundings.

Thx, also one of my favs. When I made it I thought to contrast the level of detail already in the artwork by making the water less detailed and darker and also in order to draw more attention to the troll.

Thanks, a lot of time has gone into this one so I hope I got it right somewhere. Sometime in the near future there'll be a painted version of this one, I think it deserves that at least.
