Man, this whole "registering pokeballs" concept is amazing, I just hope I don't accidentally use it in a story I use thinking I had a great idea ^-^" Love the story!

Hold on, they said it is not okay to give pokeballs to unlicensed trainers, and that it'd be okay with an employee, but what if we were to tell, that it was a careless, yet licensed trainer who simply forgot to change the locks? That'd be a simpler lie to pull of, as all it needs is a third trainer who pretends to be the one who caught them. There really isn't any way to proof it was Robin nor that it wasn't somebody else. The mistake would be understandable, less likely to be disproved afterwards and not serious enough to ruin Brendan's career! In case someone was wondering, claiming it was Robin themselves wouldn't be an option, as that catch register has probably saved the times, which were before Robin got their actual licenses.

At first I misread "Talon's" remark as "If you want to cook an omlette, you've got to incinerate a few juveniles." And I thought, 'I suppose an intelligent bird would see it like that. But technically, it would be blending up and pan-searing a few infants'. On that note, do the, uh, breeding mechanics from the games apply here? 'Cuz I always sort of thought that whole "Pokemon come from eggs found by old people" thing was like the Poke version of the "babies are delivered by storks" myth.

So why exactly are Researchers limited to one per route? Figured it would make more sense to restrict that to trainers as a way to preserve the environment from battle deaths.

Researchers often get special access to rare and hard-to-find Pokemon populations. I'd be very easy for them to poach their subjects instead of studying them.

If by "this" you mean some of the basic worldbuilding mechanics (Pokeball mechanics, the level constraints for moves, etc) then go right ahead. Half these ideas I picked up off of other people here and there anyway, so I don't exactly have a claim on them.

Yea that what i meant lol, i didn't mean your characters or you images. Yea i love how people are filling in the gaps in the Pokemon world. I really like your style and how clean your panels look. What program do you use to make your art?

It's so ridiculously fun to fill in the gaps. And I use Photoshop from start to finish (I used to do the drawings in Paint Tool SAI but PS works just as well). I use this brush for my lines to get the pencil effect.

Eek, forgot to comment on this. I am sooo interested to see what pokemon he gets next, and what will happen with those two working together. Probably what I found most amusing was Brendan being May's brother. I liked that little twist. ^^

I love your nuzlocke. The story, the art, the explanations on how licensing works and how it relates to nuzlocking itself...! But for me, its all about Brendan. Its so rare to find a nuzlocke where the rival isn't treated like some 1-dimensional ass. The more I see of Brendan, the more I like him. This page though, it just made me go from liking him to loving him. Also, Sammy the mudkip? Adore! Watching Dante and Sammy interact in the background made my day as well. Now I need to reread the whole thing <3

Thank you and glad you like Brendan and Sammy! Yeah, it's disappointing when rivals get thrown into an 'idiot' or 'jerkface' role and never become anything outside the stereotype. It's not necessarily bad, just... predictable.

Oh man the drama on this page! It's fantastic. I was genuinely worried for the both of them. I'm not sure I can handle how genius this is! You thought everything through in such a detailed way and I really admire that kind of storytelling. Once again the expressions are fantastic and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get over how well you pull them off on both people an pokemon. Brendan is becoming an increasingly likable character as well. He seemed like a bit of a doofus at first and he still kind of is, but he's a real sweetheart too.

It didn't feel that sudden to me. It seemed more like a well thought out explanation that fit the situation. It might have seemed more random if you'd tried to explain it sooner.

Well, this nuzlocke is god damn brilliant! You explain all those details that most of the people just use as a truth, not trying to shape them like you do (for example: pokeballs, PKMN researches, ... ), plus you're doing perfect job in showing emotions and atmosphere. Your characters are adorable, your drawing style is marvelous... straight A-s.
This is definitely one of my favorite nuzlockes from now on! And one which I'll try to learn from as an artist/future comic maker.

Ah, thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoy all the extraneous stuff I'm throwing in. I love to go 'under the surface' of seemingly commonplace mechanics and figure out why they tick, and I think it shows here.
