Edgeworth is definitely a character that grew on me. I liked him right from the beginning, I thought he made a great rival and I loved his character development in the first game, but it seemed like he only got more and more interesting with each new game that came out, and now he's totally one of my favorite characters.

I remember when I first heard they were giving Edgeworth his own game, I was a little bit worried if he was interesting enough to carry his own game, or if he worked better as a foil to Phoenix. But after seeing him take the lead role twice now, not only do I think he's totally capable of shouldering his own story, but I actually think that, in some ways, he makes a more interesting protagonist than Nick!

What's so interesting about Edgeworth to me is that, while Phoenix is fighting a corrupt law system that's stacked against him, Edgeworth is fighting it from within. That's what his crisis between the first and second games led him to; he believes that he can do the most good as a prosecutor. That choice is what sets him apart from Phoenix, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that that one choice makes him both a terrific foil and a fully capable leading man in his own right. He's carrying a lot of burdens on his shoulders, but he still vehemently adheres to his own moral code, a set of ethics that his universe's entire system is designed to suck out of him.

And he's fabulous!
