Description
On the train back to Berlin the sky was so fascinatingly beautiful, that I couldn't help but try to paint something in that spirit. Although, seeing it on a screen other than the cintiq now, I feel like the colours and contrasts are off...maybe I will revise it in a few days. Or maybe not.
In any case, am trying to work on my brushwork and on simplification...hope you guys enjoy it!

Wow I love the brush works you have going on! I do think the cloud are quite solid looking, but some how I personally like the more graphic look it gives the painting.

You are not the first to point to the solid look. Maybe next time I should pay a little more intension to making it more cloud-like. It probably comes down to some subtler colour play, hmm...

Because simplification helps with the readability of the piece and with establishing a focus. I begin to realize more and more the importance of strong shapes and I am trying to get there myself. One day! ...

Beautiful work! I just love how heavy and dominating the clouds seem compared to all the dainty details like the birds and the building in the distance. Landscapes arent my strong point so I dont have any critique, but keep up the good work! : )
