This piece deserves a strong commentary, but I can't be sure I know what to say. I think what catches me the most is the lighting, it catches every important detail, but is only shining through the slightest of cracks in the dark, stormy sky. It's as if the clouds are parting ways for a divine eye to keep track of Jeremy.
The wave of water doesn't hold any deep significance for me, it's just extremely cool and VERY cinematic

I'm guessing that DA deleted the original version? Oo It looks to me as if a few things have changed, though. Of course, I have a terrible memory, so it could be that I've just forgotten it, but I can't recall that the waves were green. I thought they were blue. Well, whether they were blue or green or pink in the other version, it's green here and I must say I like that, although it takes a while to get used to it. I know, sea doesn't have to be sparkling blue, it can be black or grey or green as well. It looks pretty awesome, though, and I think it fits better in the picture than when you would have used blue.

Amazing, the color practically tells a story by itself! You have an undeniably beautiful skill for composition and color, everything is so vibrant. The angle of the ship and the flow of Jeremy's (I think it's Jeremy, right?) cape creates a sense of dynamism, while the warm colors keep even such a hazardous scene inviting and welcoming. Great work!

wow this a a great adaption of that previous oekaki, I liked the tones used in that version of the water and the textures but i know it is hard to create nice wave texture with colour pencils, guess they just need to be a bit more spray/flicky like the original. great highligthing and contrast in him but i'd have to agree with SHF in how the cape looks more floaty rather than blown/flowing. good to see you back in action

Whoooooo!!! Green waves!!! :B I luff how you blended your colors in that wave. Not to mention you also did that pretty well with the clouds in the sky (you are always so awsome at doing clouds DAMMIT!!!)
Not to mention you are good (or maybe beyond that) at foam. Yes, FOAM. I can actaully almost SEE it moving.
Normally I like revised versions than the oekaki version, but in this case I'd say the oekaki was almost just as good.

wow, sorry i havent' commented in ages, i'm so sorry my friend and teacher (i still consider you as both an inspiration and teacher to me). i really love how much your art has shown alot of your style and such for what i've seen lately, if that made sense....sorry if it didn't. i really love the colouring and the beautiful wave in the background looks amazing, especially the lighted area in the middle, so does jeremy, i love the sense of movement in the hair and the detail on the crystal sword and such as well as the cloak, nad the wonderful sense of movent throughout the pic. it look really beautiful!!

Wow, that is wicked cool. I think that you should become a comic something of somesort. You have a good idea for storylines and a good eye for drawing and color. The water and the boat seem sa bit off, but he's great! I really like it.

The pose he is in and the waters/waves behind him shows a lot of movement! Especially the waters, the white foam above and the green waters, just make me wanna learn surfing. Anyway, this piece is as usual, awesome. The blending of the colours just shows a lot of depth. One little thing though, the flying cloak behind him is a little lumpy. Maybe it's the pattern of the cloak, but currently, I think it looks like it's floatin' hard thingy. Can't explain. Urmm... doesn't really matter... great job!

This one is such a huge improvement from the other! So much more depth, texture, and detail. The color is very vibrant and the action is so apparent its hard not to enjoy this piece. The wave is astounding, especially the culminating green wall right before the crest, it looks beautiful!
