Description An old inn that stood on the East Road a day's journey east of Bree. Apparently it was the easternmost outpost of the Bree-land and Strider doubted "if the Road has ever been measured in miles beyond the Forsaken Inn". Besides this one mention in the chapter "A Knife in the Dark", nothing more is known about its history or current state at the time of the story. But I suspected that it must have been (together with Bree) one of the places where Thorin and Company stayed, as it is described in the Hobbit ("Then they came to lands where people spoke strangely, and sang songs Bilbo had never heard before"), before they came to the Lone-lands, where there were no inns.
And indeed, I recently learned that in the 1960 Tolkien's unfinished attempt at rewriting the Hobbit in a style more closely resembling the Lord of the Rings, there are additional details about the journey, including the Last Inn, a day's journey east of Bree, which they found deserted. Because of the distance from Bree it is apparent that it is supposed to be the same place, that just changed its name during the years of general decline in the North-west of Middle-earth.

This is breathtaking. I adore your ability to work on such tiny details and shadings that make it seem so real.

Hm, what's the kind (and gramature) of the paper you used to create this?

In this case I really don't know.. This was just some sheet of paper I found at home Maybe my sister bought it.
But it's quite thick, so I think it's at least 200g/m2.

Nice, I thought it's got to be thick, but I assumed that it's no more than 160g. Anyways nice facture on those stones, and clouds, and... all the rest

Well, I'm really not sure, I don't have it here now and I am no specialist at paper, so it may be lesser. But you seem to be good at it when you're able to tell it just from looking at the drawing.

I've spend last few months looking at tons of charcoal drawings, so I guess it's about memorizing the way that the surface of a drawing looks on a given paper. It's not that hard

Great detailing on the inn, the stones and great and the roof is okay. The tree and road are pretty good. There are some places that could have been better but overall I really like this drawing.
