Description An old inn that stood on the East Road a day's journey east of Bree. Apparently it was the easternmost outpost of the Bree-land and Strider doubted "if the Road has ever been measured in miles beyond the Forsaken Inn". Besides this one mention in the chapter "A Knife in the Dark", nothing more is known about its history or current state at the time of the story. But I suspected that it must have been (together with Bree) one of the places where Thorin and Company stayed, as it is described in the Hobbit ("Then they came to lands where people spoke strangely, and sang songs Bilbo had never heard before"), before they came to the Lone-lands, where there were no inns.
And indeed, I recently learned that in the 1960 Tolkien's unfinished attempt at rewriting the Hobbit in a style more closely resembling the Lord of the Rings, there are additional details about the journey, including the Last Inn, a day's journey east of Bree, which they found deserted. Because of the distance from Bree it is apparent that it is supposed to be the same place, that just changed its name during the years of general decline in the North-west of Middle-earth.

sky is imo too dark... the building, tree, grass, road - eveything looks great, but the sky is... blah, not best

Thanks for the comment. Well, maybe it should be a little bit lighter. I tried to draw depressive dark stormclouds, but I admit it could look better. Anyway, it's one of my first attempts with charcoal, so it can't be perfect.

I don't really know, but I think it took quite shorter time than some other pictures. The charcoal is unexpectedly good medium. I'm going to try some other pictures in charcoal too.
And thanks for the !

Zdá sa, že niekedy to bolo celkom živé a príjemné miesto. Ale cesty sú nebezpečné... Je to vlastne obrázok s históriou, to sa mi páči.

Ano, ano, přesně o něco takového jsem se snažil.

I want to be there There's something wrong with the path (I think) - it suddenly turn into that mountain or hill. Or maybe it's just a pile of something, located right behind the buildings.
Oh, I hate myself - I'll never be able to communicate in english.

It's great pic, dark and mysterious. Even that very "polite" tree doesn't break the mood

Thanks for your comment.
You may be right about the hill. But I didn't want to do that background much detailed (or I was afraid that with the charcoal it wouldn't look right anyway) so I hope it's acceptable this way.
