Description
Some of you may know who this guy is already! His name is 401 the Hedgehog. I adopted him from at the end of June as she no longer feels attached to the Sonic community. I decided that I would volunteer to take 401 and ensure his legacy continues to live on through my art. He is also set to appear in my comic POCDX in Issue 1 and will be a very prominent character and one of Alter's few close friends.For this pic, I wanted to mirror Omi's style to the best of my ability, so I decided to try out cel-shading again! I hadn't cel-shaded since April of last year, so it was interesting to try it out once more after such a long time. It's tons of fun, and I'm sure to continue using this style with future pieces.
About the pic, it's supposed to show 401 traveling from his previous home (from Omi) to Alter's POC universe. He's actually communicating with Alter here through that panel probably via Skype lol. I guess he wants Alter to share some jam with him, perks of being roommates I suppose?

Honestly, I've grown attached to this guy! he's my favorite oc that I've ever laid my eyes on! I've always liked his design! And I'm full of relief to know that his legacy will live on! Not only that, but I am very pleased with this piece! It's very good! All the colors seem to morph well together! the setting and everything too!

Awesome drawing!!! I really have to say that 401 is one of my favorite Fan Characters ever!! I just love his Design, personality and his water powers (cause my character Melody also has water powers XD) such cute guy in my opinion. :3

He seriously does! lol I haven't quite determined how his background will influence my own projects that include him though. I need to better analyze them and get to know 401 a bit better, but I think I've got a basic idea of how he should be.

I can relate to that. When I wrote the Suki Saga, I really didn't want to infringe on Ifld's depiction of Suki, though in the end I sortof had to to make her the main character and not just a side one. It was nice that she put faith in me to do. . . well basically whatever I wanted with her character and make it good. She still loves the story.
Working with other's characters can be fun. Especially if they're owners are agreeable. I just have to get out of my head to be so careful with them and do what I think I should more. Then my stories would probably be better. XD

Exactly! The only difference here is that I'm the owner of 401 now, so it's up to me to decide where his future will go and how much of his past will remain the same.

Use him well! There's nothing like talented people joining forces or elements. You get some special leftovers and that's going to help a lot.
Hey, is. . . 401 a clone of sorts? Is that why his name is, well, 401. . . ?

Nah, he's not a clone. His full name is Forceoi Zearo, and his "sign name" is 401 which has to do with his backstory that his previous owner made for him (I may make a different backstory for him or build off of the original). But the name mostly derived from Omi's favorite number (401) and I think she also just liked the way its pronounced in French. I think it's pretty unique.

Thank you! I'm glad you trust me with him! I know how you feel. I'm sure 401 will always hold a special place in her heart that nothing can ever replace, and of course she's more than welcome to have him back if she ever decides to return to the Sonic fandom.
