Description This was the intended lighting of this: [link]
Cinema 4D crashed an un-linked my HDRI, and I ended up sticking with the self illumination on the old image. But I thought I would re-render the image anyway, since it was such an easy fix.

how do you make (or subtract) that line-hole on the upper & lower part of the pokeball?

i'm new to cinema4d.

this is really awesome!

If you make a standard sphere primitive in C4D, the standard mapping of the polygons looks like a beachball, with the vertical lines leading to the very bottom and top. Basically, I rotated the sphere so that the top was at the front (where the button on the pokeball ends up), and I deleted polygons that make parts of the lines that would be on a beachball, but not all the way to either end. Those holes become rounded simply by using a hypernurbs. To get an actual solid object, instead of just a layer of polygons, you need to extrude it, and then use loop slices to add polygons to limit the rounding of the hypernurbs. You will obviously need to make the sphere editable, so make sure you set the amount of rotational subdivisions before doing so.

Very neat adding the extra lights on the pokeball. Did you place each one individually or is it a particle system, not sure how cinema 4d works, I'm more of a blender user so particles comes to mind. Anyways, great work.

They are spherical objects, but technically not spheres.
I'll let you in on a little secret. This is not YouTube. Being rude or mean in comments is generally considered unacceptable. This is a place for artists, not for trolls...

This crap is worse than any troll. This takes so little skill, to render 3d spheres

First of all, I did model these from scratch, and while not too amazing, they are definitely more complex than they look.
Secondly, a minimum of at least 260 people would agree that this is not "crap".
And finally, they are NOT spheres... We have already established that they are spherical objects. The deathstar from Star Wars is a spherical object, not a sphere.

Definition of Sphere, for reference:
A round solid figure, or its surface, with every point on its surface equidistant from its center.

The only object in the scene that matches that description, is the illuminated sphere inside of the pokeball...

Me too. It was a mistake/error that turned out being pretty nice. The entire scene of the old version, is lit just from the glow of the pokeballs. ^-^
