A gift for a very dear friend of mine of her Assistance Dog, Molly. I needed a distraction from an upcoming hospital appointment I had, so I plunged myself into the challenge of drawing traditionally.
It had been something I'd wanted to do for a while but I didn't quite have the confidence. If I'm trying something new I much prefer to be discrete and mostly avoid discussing it with others, I get nervous
about the potential expectations. So it was nice to have no pressure from outside sources, only the pressure from myself. I would like to be less intense when working traditionally in the future though.

I used a combination of Stabilo Carbothello Pastel Pencils and Faber Castell Pastel Pencils, the paper was from a Strathmore Toned Tan Sketchbook and I think that's about it materials wise.
Obviously pencils for sketching, kneaded erasers, had quite an issue with sharpening but that was mainly because my fingers kept partially dislocating, lmao. There are definitely areas that I could have
improved upon, but overall I don't think it's too shabby for my first attempt. My friend was thrilled with the picture, we got to meet and I got to surprise her! It was definitely an experience seeing
a real life animal that I've drawn in the flesh, (obviously) usually I make photomanipulations and the characters don't exist in real life. So that was really cool!

The appointment went amazingly, the suspected diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome was confirmed. This answers so many questions we've had about my health issues, the doctor was wonderful and will refer me
onto the help of other services I will need such as gastroenterology. I also have to go for genetic testing as there is a concern about whether I may have a more severe form of EDS called Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
I didn't expect that and I'm struggling a little with that as a possibility, the prognosis for that type is very very poor. I'm sure it's not though, I can't see how it would be. Anyway, yes! I hope you guys like this
and I'm sorry I haven't been very active, as you can see, I've had a pretty busy past month.
