Wait i'm uncertain about one thing - mission first or fighting for freedom? I mean, the very most of all armys in ther time of service faced the situation that the one isen't comparable with the other. The Wehrmacht did, and the US Army did also. The Wehrmacht did more complains about warcrimes they was ordered to comit :/
I really like the armys and honour the duty they do and the danger they suffer for ther people, but i feel those soldiers betrayed by ther homelands. I know its not up to the fighting forces to decide about right and wrong as long ther is a chance for them to not have enough information about the information, but ... the Iraqi wars, Afghanistan and such battlefields leave not much questions about what side they play. Even a Rommel refuses his orders at some point - beside a bunch of soldiers of lesser grades(Franz Stigler and such dudes). All of them did know that they would be executed, and they prefer humanity more as ther orders and ther lifes. Rommel just survived cause of his secretary who just burned the letters he wrote to Berlin. The Army has a long tradition and a lot of jobs solved well, so they have the reputation to say "stop, not one step more" to the politicans, and "We're no longer in service of morality or freedom" to the people to rescue ther homeland from a path that didin't helped the Reich nor Germany very much. Well ... okay, we learned a lot about right, wrong and responsibility -Β in this case it wasen't a complete waste, but i think it would be epic if America could be teached by our mistakes and didn't have to repeat it.

I used to be an American soldier. I respect all that they do. Even if it is not politically correct.Β

I did it because I had no where else to turn. I didnt have the money to go to collage or a trade school, I lived with my mother and my step father and hated him. H used to beat us, so It took years but, I went to martial arts school, learned how to defend my self, so, since he couldnt beat me any more he changed the locks, I moved in with my grand parents, finished high school, and joined the army. I have a realationship with my mom but my step father wont talk to me. I earned the money for martial arts through working two jobs. and I had a car and did the best I could at the time. Today, I have been Β married to a nurse for 30 years whom I met while we were in the army. I have two grown kids and grand kids. The only thing my step father taught me was how not to raise your children.

Aww man, your step dad sounds like your personal cunt. But what you did there was a good thing, by joining the army, you're a protector of your country, protector of the world, a warrior and a member of a team, you served and defended the people of the United States, a guardian of freedom and american way of life, you are a american soldier
