Mutation 1:
Exoskeleton generation
Karp has the ability to grow exoskeleton plates around his body at will. The exoskeleton itself is hard, bone-like substance that lacks any sense of touch, and it’s roughly strong enough to stop a bullet. It’s normally hard and non-bending, but Karp can change it’s chemical structure to break it down and reform it.
For now he can mostly grow the plates around his upper body out of lack of control, but then again he can also shape the plates at his will if they’re at a location he has good control over. This way he’s able to even create exoskeleton sharp enough to pierce skin and use it as a “weapon”. He’s yet to reach a reactionary speed at shaping his exoskeleton plates but he’s working on it. His skin is also quite durable and has a dampened sense of feel, but it will still hurt if you punch him.

Weaknesses:
- Exoskeleton can get cumbersome and limit his movement if grown randomly.
- Cannot grow the exoskeleton quick enough to react to attacks at a moment’s notice (for now ).
- Can only properly control the plates at his upper body.
- Karp has a “pool” of exoskeleton material to use. He cannot generate more exoskeleton than his pool allows.
- Most often weak to powers that can be used at a considerable range.
- Only recently begun to train using his powers.

Karp is generally calm and down-to-earth. He’s realistic about his chances and goals and the world around him, and is relatively hard to anger. An individualistic and independent persona, Karp requires little to no hand-holding, and likes to figure things out for himself. He’s painfully honest, both to himself and others, in both good and bad - he will tell you if you fucked up, but will also tell you if something you did was cool or heroic.
In general, Karp is the kinda guy who still keeps to himself for the most part. He’s pretty detached from both his emotions and those of others, and will often try to suppress his own to a point it becomes unhealthy. Trusting is a big issue of his, and he rather does things alone to avoid disappointment - he can’t really work in groups without soloing around and usually thinks he knows the best. Karp might come off a bit intimidating thanks to his more stand-offish, honest to boot side, despite he is very calm and actually pretty friendly when you get to know him.

History:
TL;DR: Karp was a child of Russian immigrant family living in Wales. He was a pretty regular kid with a dog and two younger sibling, but at the age of 11 begun to show symptoms. First thought nothing of, the symptoms became worse until eventually Karp went through “a metamorphosis”. He was diagnosed to be a mutant at the age of 12. He was drawn from school and pretty much abandoned by his own family out of shame and fear, as Karp no longer looked anything like a human. He eventually ran away from home at the age of 15, and was taken in by an older mutant called Adam ben Ami. Karp stayed to live with the mutant community in London with ben Ami, and helped around on his combat sports gym, until on his 19th birthday was given a flight ticket to the US and admission to Jean Grey’s School for Higher Learning as a gift.

Surprisingly enough, Karp used to be a very normal kid. He was born without any greater incidences to a pretty middle-class Russian immigrant family that had moved to Britain. Karp was blessed with two little sisters and a dog. In general, he had a pretty normal childhood. He went to school, had weird phases, got and lost friends, collected bugs, unfortunately for his parents never stopped collecting bugs…The usual.
Then puberty hit. And it hit like a hammer. After Karp turned 11 he begun to get symptoms. His pediatrician reported unusually strong bone-growth, and Karp complained about growing pains. His parents thought little of it, thinking it was just puberty, until Karp begun to get really bad rashes. As in, bad enough to scratch off his skin and reveal the layer beneath it.. Which had turned black. At that point his parents realized that something was really, really badly off.
Karp got tested for everything. And the result for X-gene eventually came up positive.
After that things went a bit down-hill. Karp was pretty much left alone during his puberty when he went through what he’d later come to call a “metamorphosis”. His friend-count dwindled to zero and his parents seemed to have moved on to his siblings, likely thinking that they weren’t a lost cause just yet. Karp was pulled back from school and home-schooled after he couldn’t pass off as a typical human anymore. He eventually shut himself off from other people and became distrustful and lonely - even his parents seemed fearful and ashamed of him.
Eventually his painfully slow (and painful ) metamorphosis was done at the age of 15. And at that point Karp decided to get the hell outta home, which slowly started to become more toxic than what it was worth. He booked the train to London and disappeared completely out of radar.
He eventually ran into an older mutant called Adam ben Ami. Despite Karp was a runaway, ben Ami didn’t turn him away, instead sheltering him amongst the mutant community in London. He himself had ran from home in his youth, and felt kinship with the younger mutant. Karp begun to work small-time at the combat sport’s gym ben Ami owned, and eventually got the permission to train krav maga, as ben Ami saw it beneficial for his well-being, both physical and psychological.
For a few years he worked at the gym and trained, until on his 19t birthday ben Ami gave him a flight-ticket to the US and a pamphlet on Jean Grey’s School for Higher Learning. A bit aversive to the idea at first, ben Ami was able to convince him to leave to study.
A bit sooner than he’d like it, Karp found himself in the US.

Example: Aldahith didn’t know where he was. There were only trees and snow and a huge amount of both of them.. Actually, there seemed to be only trees and snow, as if the world was made of those two elements. The worst part of it? There was nobody in sight - no Pimpernel, Eramdir, Farnynn, or even the always oh so annoying Herja. He would’ve enjoyed the sight of his annoying companions now, even if he would never admit such gross thoughts to anyone, especially himself.
He sat rigidly on the back of his horse, wrapped tightly in his cloak and all the blankets he had with him. An elf couldn’t freeze to death, they said, but Aldahith wasn’t too sure of it now as the cold winds raged around him, blocking the view even from even his elven eyes. For a while he had been aimlessly riding in some direction, probably north if his senses were correct, hoping to find at least the road if not his companions. Aldahith, despite telling everyone otherwise, wasn’t capable of coping in this weather without help.. especially when it wasn’t a normal weather.
He could sense that this wasn’t some ordinary autumn storm, that it was something other than the work of nature. And that was what made Aldahith so uneasy, even scared. When higher powers meddled with weather - be they evil or good - you never knew what that weather might bring with it.. And he wasn’t thinking about thunderstorms or heavy rains.
