Description As it were with Tahu, I decided to remake all of the other ones I did, a long with Lewa. Check out Tahu for a bit more info:
lalam24.deviantart.com/art/Bio…

Every piece modified:
4L Bar:
2L
1.5L
1L
3L Axle rod w/ stud at end
2.5L
1.5L
.5L
3L Axle rod
2.5L
2L Axle rod
1.5L
Axle pin
.5L trim to axle side
Metru Nui Head
Sanded down the front portion a great deal, a long with behind the chin for better
range of motion (the brain stalk and 2L bar inside of it were also modified a bit to fit
the mask on, being so much further back than how it would've before the mod)
Hau Stars Mask
Sanded and reshaped to adapt to the original style, while keeping it much smaller
Lance
Trimmed to fit a 5L Axle rod
Antenna 1 x 4
Got rid of bar (used for other pieces), removed bottom connector
L-Shape Liftarm
Got rid of end axle sockets to create the inner shoulder pieces
3x1 Liftarm plate
Got rid of one side for Lewa to have 2L length liftarms.

For this guy, sadly, I had to really dremel/sand down the head, and glue on the mask. I have duplicates of all of the originals, thankfully, but it was the only way to ensure the position was right.

Um, the mask pictured is a Miru, not a Hau… did you mod a Hau mask to make it look like the Miru, or was it a typo in your description? This is epic, though!

I just have the tahu info copied and pasted into each one, they all have different mods regardless so a lot of the info is wrong, whoops.

whats that 1x2 technic piece you used on the arm?

modified larger piece; cut, sanded then burnished down to reflect the original polish.

I like the effect of the hand with poseable fingers, but the way you did it makes the hand a little smaller than I think it should have been. other than that this looks great.Β

The funny thing is, I thought I remembered the pose from somewhere, so after posting this I decided to look it up, and ended up realizing it wasn't from any of the boxart stills or anything.Β  So I ended up thinking it wasn't at all a canon pose and it was just something embedded in my head for some reason.Β  I ended up realizing it was from the commercial after watching some compilation on youtube.

Its similar to the one on the cover of the second comic, which id assume is what the commercial pose is based on or something

Sounds about right, but in the 5 months since my last comment I've changed my mind, sorry. Β This set of comments have been a pretty dumb roller coaster, and it's entirely my fault.

all of these you did a stellar job preserving the aesthetic even while enhancing the articulation far beyond any official kit.

Man I really dig how you made these guys more posable than the originals. That annoyed me back when I played with these things, how the CGI movies would show them with bendy elbows and knees and whatnot then the points of articulation on the figures themselves I could perhaps count with one hand. Your MoC's are so resourceful.

very nice!!!

just a thought

why the difference on the left elbow?

all your others seem to use those pin things

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lalam24 In reply to Deadpool7100 [2013-09-19 02:33:53 +0000 UTC]

Because there's no single 2L Liftarm in Lime, so I had to cut a 3L to match the size and compensate for an end having to be a cylinder, rather than an axle port.

oddly enough i just realized it was a peg slot instead of a bar
