Description Wanted to get the Kensai in a portrait like those RPG games, but I ended up experimenting. For some reason I don't really feel that painting it like the ones I did before, opted for a more washed out and limited colors. Just went with the flow and decided to stop here, just didn't feel right to do any more. Ended up looking like some old photo, hmm.....

I'm open for comments on this one, do gimme some feedback on the work. Just wanna see how this experiment turns out.

nice sword saint!

I bet he packs a wallop with either the sword or by the blows of his hands...

Great stuff.

Of all your kensais I like this one most. His pose is so imposing. And I think you got his katanas just perfect. They aren't normally longer than 90cm
Awesome half-orc!

U asked for C&C
I think this is a pretty awesome piece of artwork - the concept of kensai is a pretty cool one and I think u have captured it pretty well.
Criticism - the arms look a tad unnatural and unrested. He looks like he is trying to body builder pose his arms. Mayhaps try adding a bit more droop to the shoulder line and let his arms rest more against his body, or closer, rather than having him look a bit . . . stressed almost?

But beyond the criticisms - I really like this piece, the style and the subject.

I've always loved orc samurais. They are so badass, and almost as flawless as a zombie samurai. Lovely work though.

what did u use to create him?what program and what tools ?
the character is great, only one thing....katanas are 2 handed swords, the blade should defenetly be longer, great work anywayz

The lighting and detail is wonderful. I don't really know what to suggest, as even adding more hues in your shading might detract from the soft sepiatone thing you have going on.

I don't think the swords are too small at all. Being a half-orc, who are alot bigger than other common humanoid races, he will naturally make any weapon look smaller. I think you got the proportion just right

But i would prefer the frist two to this though, they have more interesting postures.

I guess the simple ones are really the hardest, really need to study more potrait paintings and figure out how they get such dynamism with a simple pose.

Yo DM, I need a bigger sword!

Why don't you play a halfing then? Halfings makes every weapon look bigger!

ya, its bangin! toes are good, hands are good, i agree that he could have bigger swords too. i dont think theres anything wrong with this one, but i do feel that the first two were more powerful in terms of view and lighting

I sidetracked the posing and lighting for this piece, just wanted to get a feel of flesh with a standard pose. Thanks for the comments, hmm.....big sword.....

Everything from the value to the form to the proportions is top-notch.
It almost seems to me like this big fella needs bigger swords! heh.

I was kinda thinking of fitting him with a larger sword cause his a half orc. Guess I better start designing that big sword for this fella soon. Thanks!
