Description
She knew deep down that her sister and her bandmate were right. She did need to talk to Rainier before anyone else. But that was easier said than done for Red Cedar as she waited for the right moment. Maybe it was procrastination, but she wanted to bide her time so she wouldn’t break his heart. Not more than she already would by telling him at all.

But she couldn’t wait too much longer. As she spent more and more time around the Apples, she knew this. Every time she looked at his cousin she felt it, he was still so attractive but she was sickened at herself every time she laid eyes on him. She had to come clean and figure out what to do.

Cedar watched Rainier mingle with his family ever so cheerfully and her heart hurt. She didn’t want to do this to him, he didn’t deserve this...

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a whistle. It was Brackish.

The stallion sauntered his way over to her, making her stomach turn with every step. It seemed as if he knew how she felt about him as he really played up his charming act whenever he was around her. It was absolute torture.

“Hey little filly, what are you doing over here? My cousin not taking care of you?”

Cedar’s face grew hot.

“N-no, he’s taking care of me just fine.”

“Alright, just checking babe. Because if not-“

He smacked her behind.

“-you know who to call.”

Cedar yelled out as his hoof made contact with her flanks, his inappropriate contact sending her over the edge. The way he touched her, the way he egged her on even though he knew she was in a relationship, she finally realized Blueberry was right. He was a creep. Under his charming exterior was an ugly, vulgar personality. And she didn’t want it.

“I can’t DO THIS ANYMORE!”

Heads turned at her sudden outburst, all eyes on her and Brackish as she cried out in disgust.

Brackish looked around nervously. All the other stallions in his family were watching and it was clear they figured out pretty quickly he was to blame. But he put his suave exterior back up to try to save face.

“Huh? What’s all this fuss for, filly?”

“I can’t deal with YOU! I’m in a relationship and I can’t take you coming onto me like this! It’s just not right! I may have liked it at first but-“

“Hon? What’s goin’ on here?”

Cedar’s heart jumped into her throat as she whipped her head around to the one stallion she dreaded explaining this to: Rainier.

“This ain’t your business, cuz! Fuck off!”

Brackish huffed in rage right behind her, causing her to take a step away from him. A step towards Rainier. That’s when she knew she had to face the inevitable.

Rainier frowned in concern.

“Cedar? Is...is there somethin’ you wanna tell me?”

Cedar’s throat tightened as she prepared to rip the bandaid off.

“Yes. There is.”
