Finally got this thing done...! Drawn in coloured pencil (Prismacolor and Polychromos), Size A3Related content

I swear, I thought it was a photo when I clicked the thumbnail... When I realised that it was a drawing - well, I nearly fell off my chair.
So, I just wanted to express my amazement over such a marvellous and detailed piece. You are a role model for all the other artists out here.
Did you use a real skull as a model, or simply a lot of pictures? If you used a real skull, you don't happen to know its ethnic origin?

Wow, thanks for the comment! I'm flattered! Unfortunately I didn't have a real skull to use as a model, but my photos were from The Bone Room - [link] - the skull is listed as Male from China.

You are very much welcome, and thank you. I just thought that because of the color shifts and the texture you had given the surface of the skull, you must have had a real model. How fooled was I not? Still, a mervellous piece. Perhaps more now that ever before.

Wow. This is incredible! I love the detailed realism -- you must have had a model that wasn't plastic, a skull from a museum or something, right? Wow.
I like the Polychromos too, they have a different slightly harder texture than Prismacolors and mix well with them. Oh the joy of nonduplicate colours... hehehe...

Yeah it's quite a big picture, even the black background took a while to colour in... the teeth were really time consuming as well.
