I was terrified when I had to paint this in my 6th year of High School as I am absolutely scared to death of skulls! Have no idea why I chose to incorporate them into my theme for my Advanced Higher work!This was just painted in Acrylics onto the usual run-of-the-mill rubbish card that schools provide you with
The school actually bought this painting for £250, which I was ecstatic about! But it ended up getting stolen and they told me I had to paint another one!! So I ended up hating the sight of this thing having painted it twice..

I love the contours of the skull, the dimensions are quite accurate. The missing teeth is a lovely touch. If the skull was bashed in, I think the fracture was broken too neatly where they the bones join. The pieces are still fused together in the adult skull, so it should have more jagged edges.

Despite the upsetting story, I really like this image. You have a fantastic ability of capturing the reality in objects; especially shown with the depth you create in your shading, and your use of colors. I have a huge respect for your work and your talent. Love it!

It might seem kind of like cheating to pick your featured deviation, but it really is my favorite of all of them. The way you captured the texture of the metal is amazing, and the whole composition looks so manic and frightening! good job
