The first lady of fighting is here! I participated in a group project with fellow AMAZING artists Dean Stuart , Mike Manomivibul , Grim Wilkins , Colin Nitta , and Jonathan Stagnaro for APE 2012. We all claimed different characters and my first inclination was to do Yun and Yang, but no one was repping the ladies. So, of course, I had to go with Ms. Chun-Li here.I had to give her her famous thighs, but I was tired of her default costume so I went with this one instead. Still purely her, but much more suited to participating in ass kickery. Wanted her to look powerful and focused. She got some major muscle booty.

First off, kudos for not making her the bloated-monstrosity-that's-more-breast-than-human that she's usually portrayed as by the fandom. I know that, as a female character that's placed in a fighting game made up mostly of male characters and targeted towards a male fanbase, she's supposed to be eye-candy, but you've managed to make her more than just a beautiful and dangerous woman. The picture conveys a feeling of quiet and serenity as she practices or engages in combat (which is left up to the viewer, another plus for this piece). Her femininity is apparent without being thrust into the face of the viewer, and you've managed to embrace in a realistic way the body proportions of an athletic woman.
On the flip side, while she hasn't been drawn as the overly busty, lustily plump sex object she's often seen as, she isn't mannish in form, either. The shape of her breasts and posterior, as well as her arms say "female" without making her seem weak, while her powerful thigh in the foreground can hardly belong to anyone but an individual who engages in some leg use-heavy activity (running or, you know, kicking the crap out of random strangers).

Amazing style. The pose is dynamic, sexy but not erotic. Chun Li is focusing on her opponent, a bit sad but confident. Her outfit and hair shows that she is a dedicated and serious person. The textures are superb, and the use of red is surgical. The yellow background, complementary to the blue foreground, creates a perfect point of focus to the character. I even pray that someday in a near future all we can see and play a Street Fighter with your style, Kevin. That would be really groundbreaking. Congratulations for this great piece of amazing and inspiring work.

She looks amazing. I love the way you made her look totally serious and badass as a priority, instead of how sometimes she is drawn "pretty first, badass second." ...Which is not to say she doesn't look nice, just that it's nice to see her prettiness not being the primary concern of a picture.

The bottom of her right under breast should be slightly higher since her arm is raised. Unless that's supposed to be her rib. In which case the curve of the left side breast should be moved slightly more towards the center. Um... I care a lot about breasts. lol. Otherwise beautiful job!
